Realized at 11am on CHristmas eve that a Polly Anna gift wasn't purchased. Went to amazon they has SAME DAY delivery for $3.99. Items arrived on my stoop at 7:26pm. We were at a party and received a textpixiedust:

I ordered a gift on December 19 with an expected delivery on December 21st with prime. It's still not here and now expected delivery isn't until January 2nd. It made it's way to Iowa and now it's back in New Jersey. :confused3

Not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have it. I was on an Amazon Prime trial membership, but I didn't renew it.

On the other hand, I also purchased another gift on the 19th and it did show up on the 21st even though it didn't ship until the 20th.

But I still love Amazon!

I am also amazed at how quickly the items get delivered from Amazon. Sometimes I think they have little elves that deliver the packages!

Ah, the joys of having a fulfillment center nearby with stock available for the thing you ordered. :)

Channeling my former CS rep days...that's an order that had a problem. Either something was wrong with the box, or just the whole shipment from the very beginning. Have you called them and had it re-sent? There's almost certainly going to be something very wrong with the package when they receive it, so they'll almost certainly have to repick it and ship the new package anyway.

Amazon saved Christmas - lol. I ordered about 80% of my gifts this year through them. I placed an last minute order on Wednesday for 2 items. Friday I got home and found a package. However, it had a completely different products/invoice inside. Called Amazon support at 9:30 at night (CST) and not only did somebody answer, but they got a replacement shipment out on Saturday and it got here Monday night as promised! Great customer service - loyal for life :) Oh and I could keep the $10 item they sent originally - lol.

I'll admit that Amazon has my never-ending devotion. My ILs were awesome and gave DH and I a Kindle before we headed to WDW in May. Two weeks before Christmas I put some games on it for my DD as a treat and let her play them one afternoon *swearing* that when we got the Kindle I set it up so that you couldn't purchase things without a password.

I was wrong.

About 2 hours after chatting online with an Amazon CS rep all $180 worth of in-app charges that DD had made were refunded despite them not having to do so. (You had to click a button acknowledging that all in-app purchases were non-refundable before playing.) I'm still not certain why a "sparkliest heap" for the Littlest Pet Shop app costs $19.99. At least the handfuls of kibble were only $1.99! :rotfl:

Amazon for President,Congress, governor, mayor! This year I've bought a ton from them and have had zero problems. One of the items was bought last Thursday from an outside vendor on Amazon with expected delivery today. It arrived the next afternoon!

Thankfully there are fulfillment centers all over PA so we luck out in NJ. Yes Amazon for president.

The speediness of Amazon deliveries is mostly due to the speed that they fill orders. None of the several days later before an order is even boxed and shipped like so many companies. I think that Amazon is singlehandedly responsible for the improvement that I've noticed in a few companies. In most cases when a package isn't received for 7 to 10 days it's usually the "handling" time rather than the actual time in transit. Amazon has that handling done to a science!

Amazon. :worship:

I was able to find all the new Monster High dolls including a hard to find boy doll are regular retail from Amazon. :goodvibes

Right before Christmas, the newest series of Power Rangers toys started being sold on Amazon. I ordered, they said the items wouldn't arrive until after December 24th, but on December 24th it arrived. You should have seen the look on my son's face when he saw these brand new items on Christmas morning.

I will give kudos to Toys R Us though for their sturdy shipping boxes that simply have the return address of Fulfillment Center on it. Not one word of their store on it at all. :thumbsup2

I honestly believe the only things I purchased in an physical store this holiday season were food products and some stocking stuffers. The rest were online.

ETA: No, I purchased myself a Nintendo 3DS XL in white/pink at an local store.

Except when you the free shipping. Most of my few orders takes about a week - 10 days to get here. Mostly because they do not ship them for 2 - 3 days after I order.

I guess I've been lucky. I always do super saver free shipping and have never had them held up.

I totally agree, I would marry Amazon if I wasn't already married! ;)

I have to admit, they are marketing geniuses! I got the free prime membership through Amazon mom last year and got totally hooked. Now I am slavishly devoted to them and will gladly shell out the $80 a year for prime for the rest of my life. :lmao:

the $80 i pay a year for amazon prime is worth it. i converted my parents and sister to amazon prime believers too. i know i more than get my moneys worth in free 2 day shipping alone, nevermind my use of the streaming tv and movies that some would look at as borderline abusive.

We have an Amazon warehouse in town, and there have been a series of articles in our local paper about how poorly they treat their employees. Kind of a big downer, because I use Amazon a lot too.

That is not always true either. Anytime I get a package that is send fedex smartpost it goes back and forth between centers and back through the same centers over again. Sometimes it says it is on the way to my post office only to show up in another state and it is never a package problem. It sound be called fedex dumbpost. lol
