My Amazon Prime just ended. My dd is now a college student and can get it for 1/2 price. If I pay for her membership, can she "share" it with me so I can use it on my account? Or will I have to log in as her all the time? I thought there was a way to add other accounts to your prime membership, but wanted to make sure the student Prime works the same way.

Thanks!

From the Prime FAQ:
Note: Amazon Mom and Amazon Student members with Amazon Prime shipping benefits and customers receiving a free 30 days of Amazon Prime benefits with Kindle Fire won't be able to share their benefits.

our college daughter has this and what I do, is have her order it for me, ship it to me and I just transfer the money to her account...lol I will email her the link of what I want ordered...

I just log on with my sons email, and order and ship it to myself. I have used my credit card, and my husband has used his card also, on my sons account and it's never been a problem.
the only time this is a problem, is when it's a gift for my son, since he gets the email confirmations.

We have one account. I sent in the info from my daughter's school so we could get the student discount on the account I've had for years. Worked fine! If I send something to her at school, I have to switch addresses, as our home is the default.

We do the same thing. Amazon Student has 6 free months then it's $39 a year after the trial. My son does a LOT of Amazon shopping so he opened his and if I need something he buys it and I transfer the funds.

As far as the student trial 6 mod period....can you cancel that before the 6 mos is up just like canceling the prime before you 1 month is up (for regular prime)?

So you email Amazon and tell them you want to add it to your account?

My dd doesn't use Amazon much so wouldn't be a problem just logging in as her and using it. I just don't want to switch accounts due to our Kindles and Roku box, etc, being tied to my account.

I can't remember how I first did it. Go to MY ACCOUNT and see if there's a way to add Student Prime to your account and it will tell you what the requirements are. We have had Student Prime for a few years now. We used to get it because DH was getting his Master's degree. Then he got that last year, and DD went to college. They've asked to use the .edu email address in the past. This last time, they wanted a dated copy of DD's schedule. She sent to me, I sent to them. It worked!
