I ordered bottled water, granola bars, and a few snacks for our recent trip to DL. We stayed at the Grand Californian. When we checked in, I asked about my delivery and they brought it to us. The delivery fee for one box is $5.99 - my box was not full and had 18 waters, 2 boxes of granola bars, and a few other snacks. The items probably cost a bit more than you would find at your local grocery store, but not significantly higher. This was a significant savings over buying bottled water in the parks and we ate the granola bars for breakfast. We each took a water with us in the morning as well as snacks, and since we were so close to the hotel, would pick up a second later in the day. We did fill the bottles at the water fountain on occasion, but did not really care for the taste of that water. If it were just two people, it might not be worth it, but any more, I think it is. At DW last year, we used Garden Grocer and liked it, but that option isn't available in California. I believe Von's delivers and you can get refrigerated items, but I think you have to be there to accept the delivery - they also occasionally offer free delivery is you sign up on their website. There was not a problem taking these items into the parks either.

Interesting thought. I was considering doing Vons but this might prove to be a better option. How did you have the package addressed so that it would get to you? TIA!

Try Amazon Fresh instead - no delivery fee if you order is over $30 and you have full access to order anything. We ordered prepared salads, sandwiches, milk, etc to take in each day. In CA there is a yearly fee to use it, but you can get a free 30 day trial to use while you are there. We have used it at home for over 6 years and used it when we went to DL in May and it was awesome. www.amazonfresh.com

We weren't - they just delivered to our hotel front desk. They even use plastic bins with ice packs for anything that needs to be kept cold. And you can get tons of groceries, prepared foods and even amazon.com items! Highly recommend them.

For the address, I just looked at the hotel website for that information. I addressed it to the hotel, and on the second line put my name and arrival date. I did not have to be there to pick it up. For a fact, they say that it can take four days to have it delivered, so I ordered 5 days before the trip. It still got there a day or two early. Bell Services had a list of names of people who had received packages.

Lauren, thanks for the information on Amazon Fresh, I had not heard of that.

I'm looking into possibly trying out Amazon Prime Pantry for our upcoming trip since I got a bonus code that would cover the delivery fee. We are staying at Tropicana Inn and Suites. Has anyone had any experience sending packages to this hotel or any of the offsite ones?

We had Amazon deliver to the Tropicana. There was a glitch but overall we were happy. When Amazon tried to deliver the first time the hotel wouldn't accept the delivery, so I got an email saying that the order was rejected and I needed to contact them to re-deliver. After talking with the front desk, they agreed to accept the delivery the next time. So Amazon came out later that night and delivered, then called me and I came and pickup it up from the front desk.

The take-away is make sure you talk with the front desk and let them know you have a delivery coming so they don't send them away.

Thanks for your quick reply! Do you remember how far in advance you placed your order?

I would guess it was a few days before we arrived. We use Amazon at home for groceries on a weekly basis and were comfortable ordering from them. It really was a great way to get food to the hotel and especially prepared sandwiches and salads to take into the park.

We used Von's on our last trip. We did not have to be there for delivery, for anyone wondering. They delivered to the Bell Desk who held our food until we arrived.

We've used Von's three times. The first time was great, and they left the groceries with bell services at the GCH while we were at the park. The second time, they made me come to bell services to meet the delivery guy, and I ended up lugging all the groceries up to my room myself because no one could help me immediately at bell services. That was at the DLH. Last year, I purposely planned a break at the hotel during the delivery window to be available. The time came and went, and our groceries were nowhere to be found. We have 3 young children and were desperately awaiting those snacks, milk, as well as diapers! After multiple calls and being told they had no idea where their driver was, we were told our delivery was running extremely late and could possible be pushed to the next day! It ended up being delivered late that night (probably around 10 or so) while we were at the park. At least they left it with bell services!

I know a lot of people have had positive experiences with Von's, but I'm SO glad to know about the Amazon Fresh option! Thank you! We will definitely give them a try as I will not use Von's again.
