Amazon Prime for 3 months free

I found this on slick deals and thought I would post it here for anyone interested. I just finished a one month free trial a week ago and this let me sign up and receive the 3 month trial anyway:

Amazon is offering a free 3-month trial of Amazon Prime valid for allaccounts, including those who previously participated in a similar trial.

Go to this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0679405429?tag=slickdeals

Add the book to cart using the "Add to cart with free 2-day shipping" button on the right of the page (if visible)
If the button is not visible, simply add the book to cart
Login to your account, and sign up for free 3-month trial of Amazon Prime when prompted
If the button was not visible in (2), in cart switch to "FREE Two-Day Shipping with a free trial of Amazon Prime" shipping
Sign up for trial as prompted
Once sign up is completed, remove the book from your cart
Click here, log in if prompted and turn off your prime membership from automatic upgrade by clicking "Do Not Upgrade" button, and confirm your selection
Enjoy your free 3-month trial of Amazon Prime

Wow, my other trial ended 3 days ago, and it let me do this! Thanks so much, I needed to order something that is $19.99 and now I can ship it free and fast!

I signed out of my amazon account before clicking the link, and it did show me the free two day shipping button. I had to go all the way to nearly the end on the checkout process to get the Prime offer (to the final order review page). Then on the review page it confirmed my trial and I was able to click on the small "change quantities" link below that to remove the item form my cart.

My free trial just ended. Thanks for this offer.

Just remember to go into your account under settings and click "Manage Prime Membership". Once there, make sure you click the "Do Not Upgrade" button to turn off the auto upgrade. Otherwise you may find yourself paying $79 that you didn't plan on.

Thanks, OP!! Worked for me too! I did the 1mth free trial 2-3 years ago, but it's never let me have another!! Woohoo!!!! Probably cost me a lot of money in the next 3 months!!

Still can't get it to work for me.

I used the free 2 day shipping button, and even tried actually ordering the book, but I was charged shipping & was never given the option to confirm the prime membership.

Tried the other way & was never given the option to change from standard shipping.

Any suggestions?

Maybe my shipping default is preventing it, but I haven't figured out how to change my shipping default.

hmmm... not sure what you're doing wrong but this is just how I did it. I signed out of my account first. Then clicked on the link in the OP. Then clicked on the "add 2 day shipping" button. Then clicked on proceed to checkout. It asked me to sign in then and when I did it gave me the trial offer.

ETA: Figured it out. It was my shipping default, and I was able to change it by changing my shipping address. Thanks again, OP!
