Ok....has anyone actually ever shopped there for groceries? And if so how do they compare say to Walmart, Sams, Costco? Honest opinions plz.

We've ordered larabars from amazon groceries. We could get them at costco, but you had to buy 3 boxes (16 bars each) and it was one each of 3 flavors. With Amazon I can select one box at a time. In general their package sizes seem to be smaller than Costco, and the selection is more varied.

However - Amazon supersaver shipping is thoroughly obnoxious - so we only order things that we aren't in a hurry to get.

I looked at it when I got their email (we have the free 2-day shipping Prime membership) -- prices seem high and looks like you have to buy large quantities. I wasn't particularly taken with it.

That said, it seemed to have some specialty stuff that could be hard to find and easier to buy online.

Everything I looked at was priced much higher than Sams, even after the 10.00 off was applied to a 50 dollar order, it was still cheaper at Sams.

I bought Pampers and Powerbars and used the discount.

We bought enough to use free shipping and it made the price worth it for us.

I had a disappointing experience with Amazon grocery. I ordered a case of organic hard candies that were 6 bags to a case. First they sent a case of the wrong flavor. I sent it back and they sent the right flavor but only 1 bag (supposed to be a case). I called and was told they'd correct it and was then sent another 1 bag. They finally said they couldn't fix the problem and cancelled my order. The refund took a long time to be credited and required more calls. I was very frustrated with customer service and felt like it was a simple error that could have easily been remedied. So right now I'm boycotting Amazon.
