I did a search to find an Amazon discount code, but couldn't find any. I figured I'd ask my fellow budget boarders. My total is over $100 so any little bit of a discount helps!

Chase Freedom Rewards is 5% rebate at amazon Jan thru end of March. Google had a buy 5 get 5 free amazon giftcard. That is over. it was last week but that is the only discount per say you will see are things like that vs. a hardcore coupon number

I've never seen a discount code directly from Amazon. There are things like the Chase offer or free 1 day shipping if you use Discover, but never a percentage off.

Amazon almost never has discount codes, and if they do, they're on specific items, not general purchase codes. Places like eBates or Shop At Home also do not give cash back when you shop at Amazon. Do you have a cc that gives cash rewards?

I was fortunate enough to receive an email about this and participate! I shop Amazon ALOT and they never have any coupon codes - nor do they participate in places like UPromise or MyPoints where you collect points for gift cards. Luckily, they have very reasonable prices and mostly free shipping if you spend over $25.00

As everyone said above.

However - I've often gotten stuff cheaper if I didn't need it right away by just leaving it in my cart.

If you leave items in your cart (place them in the cart and then 'save for later'), when you log in, hit 'cart' and it'll show you the updated prices of everything in the cart. You'll be surprised how much stuff goes up and down.

Some stuff may go up, usually comes back down but it may take a bit. Some stuff goes down, then goes back up, etc.... if it's something you feel "should" be somewhat cheaper, and you don't need it right away, I'd stick it in the cart and check daily.

It is gambling, as it may go up but... prices bounce around a lot and I've saved a bunch just watching stuff. You get a feel for what a good price is when you see the prices bounce, if you can wait for something.

I just went and did it - like so -

Please note that the price of True Blood: The Complete Second Season has decreased from $39.49 to $36.99 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages.

If you have a discover card, I have a free shipping code (not much but every little bit, right?)

PM me and I will send it.

I forgot to mention this! This is my favorite part!!! I ALWAYS leave items in my cart and love when the price decreases...although sometime it increases or even goes out of stock but ... :confused3

Hah, yah, I have like 100+ things in the cart! It also lets you think about stuff. I've thought I wanted stuff, stuck it in the cart and then like 2 weeks later it pops up as going up or down in price and I'm all 'Oh, forgot I put that there.' Saves impulse spending.

I have about a dozen items in my cart right now. The best example of cornflake's explanation? Box set of "The West Wing"; MSRP $299.99, I ended up getting it late last year for either $98 or 90.88... after keeping it in my cart for over two years :teeth:

thank you again everyone! You are all so helpful which is why I love this board. =) Janis, I don't have a Discover card, but thank you so much for the offer. I guess I'm just gonna have to buy it full price. **GASP** We have added 1000 square feet onto our home, or should I say we finished our basement into 2 bedrooms, a full bath, a small sitting area, and a laundry room. SOOOO, 2 of our boys are getting new bedrooms which means new themes, hence my cart on Amazon being VERY FULL! LOL
