Some of you probably already know this, but just in case for anyone who wasn't already aware, the onsite hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian, Pixar Place) have changed their policy regarding packages that are mailed to guests since last time I was there (2021). It used to be you could mail whatever to the hotel as a guest. On my recent trip, I had several Amazon packages sent to me, but they did NOT arrive on time due to Disneyland's policies. They now do a 24-hour security hold, but the security check is done at an off-site location, and it's not open on the weekends, which can delay things even more.
My packages were confirmed by Amazon to be delivered on a Friday, but I received a notification "business closed." When we checked with the hotel, evidently the delivery was attempted on Friday, but by the time it arrived, the security check location was already closed. The security location is also closed over the weekend. The package was sent back on Monday, then sent to security, but did not make it to me at the hotel until Wednesday! Of course, I didn't need it any longer by then. I was really worried that it wasn't going to make it before I left (Thursday) because then it would have been difficult to return (Amazon doesn't guarantee a delivery can be stopped). This was a huge problem for my husband, who was there for a conference and had ordered some video equipment he absolutely had to have on Sunday. He actually had to go to a local store and buy it there, then send his (rather large) Amazon delivery back when it finally arrived on Wednesday.
Ironically, packages that were sent to my husband that were NOT from Amazon did not have to go through this security check and he got those on time! That seems odd to me. I would think the chances of the hotel receiving something dangerous from Amazon would be extremely slim, but the chances of receiving sometime dangerous through some random address would be higher. The front desk told him that was indeed their policy.
So if you have Amazon deliver, be sure it's set up to arrive several days before you do!
