Okay, I know that this isn't a big deal but I am frustrated.

For the past two weeks, I have either been sick or have been taking care of sick kids. I am behind on my Christmas shopping. So, I decided to shop on Amazon.com this morning, as I have done many times in the past. Spent about an hour and 15 minutes loading my cart up with goodies and I CANNOT CHECK OUT. I have literally been trying to check out for 45 minutes, and the site isn't working.

Ok, vent over.

maybe too many folks are ordering !!!:santa:

hope you get your order in soon!!

Also it is the last day to order with delivery guaranteed by 12/24.

The Seattle area is under a huge huge huge snow storm right now, if there are any problems they are having a hard time getting people in to work to fix it.

We have 9.5 inches and it's still snowing, DH is trying to work from home along with a million other people.

I was going to post how much I love amazon. I ordered something on Tuesday afternoon and it was here Wednesday. It was free shipping too!

But I have been in your position too where you can't seem to checkout. Hopefully you'll be able to do your sale and your goodies will be on their way soon.

Well, if you're buying from a separate seller, know that the people who support the Sellers are at work in Seattle and Grand Forks, North Dakota. :) Well, I assume the Nebraska folks are there; hubby hasn't told me otherwise. He says the snow is 4" right now in Seattle, but since he takes the train in, he was fine. Those who have to drive in are in trouble, but amazon gives transit passes to all employees in Seattle so they COULD choose to not drive. But still, Seattle is like San Francisco "lite" with all the hills, so commuting, especially to HQ where I assume the computer techies work, can be very difficult if not impossible. Especially to HQ.

So, are you getting an error message? What is happening when you try to check out? Even though I don't work there anymore, I would love to TRY to help, if you can describe what happens. :)

Responding to the bold part - bus passes only help when the bus can get you there. Unfortunately Metro doesn't provide door to door service with the transit pass. DH drives to the park and ride and then takes the bus, but currently we have 11 inches of snow and no way of getting out, not to mention the fact that 520 in Redmond is totally shut down.

OP, I hope you were able to place your order finally!!

I tried ordering from Amazon on Sunday, with the free shipping, and it said that the following items would be received AFTER Christmas...and it was all 4 of my items (all in stock and coming from Amazon, not another seller). It would have cost $16 for two day shipping. So I ordered 3 of the items from Barnes and Noble, on Sunday, and they arrived Tuesday (free shipping. altho the price was higher on one item). The 4th item I bought at Sears.

I've had good years and bad years with Amazon...very inconsistent.

Oh no, just keep trying! I love Amazon, all they're stuff is cheaper than anywhere else. I always use the free shipping but I'm not usually buying anything with a deadline or I buy them way in advance, so the 10-day shipping doesn't bother me. Once or twice I've used Barnes and Noble to get their faster shipping, but everything on there is almost double the price as it is elsewhere!

I've had great luck with Amazon this year. Sorry you are having trouble.

I just ordered on Sunday and my shipment came today. It wasn't supposed to come until next Tuesday.

I just ordered something about 10 minutes ago and it went right through with no problem..

Have you tried again?

Definitely, but you were saying 9" when hubby's building's area only had 4". Redmond isn't Seattle. North Seattle is different than just north of the stadiums, and so on. :) And since the Sounder is part of SoundTransit, and it's what hubby takes (and is about to take home, he was there from 6:30 to 5:30!) with the transit card, there are plenty of communities that COULD get up (or down) to their offices to work today if they live with access to the station (which is something we have taken into account with our last 4 moves). From Tacoma is especially easy b/c we live near downtown and he just walks to the Link (lightrail through downtown tac), goes to the Sounder, then walks 5 minutes from the train to work.

But he doesn't work in PacMed; if he did he would very likely not have been able to get up there even after getting easily to the Sounder train station. :)

Anyway, I hope the OP got her order through too!
