Amazon.com Pre-Order Question

I've never pre-ordered on amazon before and I have a question.

I ordered a book that will be released to the public on May 3rd.

So does this mean I will have the book on May 3rd, or will it ship out on that day? Or will I get the book sooner than May 3rd?

Mine always arrives on the day of release. I've heard tales of pre-orders arriving a day earlier, but it's never happened to me. I've done maybe 10-11 of them.

A friend and I both pre-ordered the same book, and she got hers a day early and mine came on the release day. So, it coming early does happen. Never to me, though.

Also, if you pre-order it for a certain amount and then Amazon later lowers their price, they will charge you the lower price at the time of shipping.

Thank you very much. Amazons site wasn't too helpful when I was looking for information in regards to pre-order information.

I have preordered stuff before from Amazon and have never gotten it early. Usually I get the shipping notices the day the item is released.
