Thanks for posting this...I do have a question, (Newbie) planning 1st cruise next year. You referred to placing the money in tip envelopes, is it best to give the tip to the individual CM, or to pay at Guest Services?

I also have a newbie question. Our documents provide tipping guidelines, and go on to say that it's per person. Do most of you add a full tip for your kids, too? I guess it makes sense to me for the dining room, but does the room steward have twice as much to do if there's 4 in a cabin?

MagicinMyheart--Your stateroom host/hostess will leave a suggested tip form, along with tip envelopes, in your room near the end of your cruise. You can choose to put cash in the envelopes and hand them to each recipient CM OR you can fill out your tip form, take the form to Guest Services and charge the appropriate tip amounts to your onboard account, take the receipts from Guest Services, place those receipts in the provided envelopes and then hand the envelopes to the recipient CM. Whoo, a lot of words and all I really said was that either way, you use the envelopes and give each deserving CM their tip. It is all really self explanatory once you are there and can read the form for yourself.

Jimbo--DCL suggests that you count each member of your party, including children.

YEP, and with my kids, it's about 3 times as much!!
