Gotta like some of the cool prizes this time ... the fun "vehicles" last night were cool, and I especially liked the "gas for life for licensed drivers". I think that's worth waaayy more than the million bucks! :rotfl:

I thought that was great too until I read that there was a cap of 1200 a year on it!! That is only 30 fill ups for me LOL!! So its about 1/2 a years worth of gas every year depending on how much you drive and what you drive!

Wow, this thread has taken a turn for the, uh, nasty...

We taped the show last night and just watched it. I was in tears watching the little girl try to hold back her tears. They are a delightful family and I was impressed at the way they tried to build each other up instead of rip each other to shreds. The boy is a bit sarcastic--reminds me of my own 12yo.

Thank you Claudia - I finally watched my TiVo'd Early Show to see the Gaghan family. I like them even more now - those parents are raising those kids right. They probably realized in the beginning that they wouldn't win, but they sure lasted a lot longer than some other families. The Mom really feels bad about not finding the red bean quicker. She commented on not having luck in things like that and the Blackjack earlier in the Race.

(I have to admit that I shed a tear watching Carrissa trying NOT to cry at the Pit Stop last night!)

Yes, but he's a hoot. When he told Carissa that they'd have to walk the 200miles, I thought, "And she'd do it if they asked her to." :goodvibes

That was funny! That little girl is amazing trooper. They'd better watch out when she starts liking boys in a few years!

So, what "fun" vehicle would you pick? A Segway, a Vespa, a Jet
Ski, or an ATV?

Hands down, for me, would be the Segway! I did the Segway tour last year and it was a blast.

Either a Vespa or Segway it would be a tough decision.

My tape ran out last night before the show ended. Darn it, so disappointed to read the Gaghans are out. Loved those kids.

The tape ran out during the road block but I never saw which task the Weavers and Gaghans chose. Which did they do, bananas or the rope bridge thing? Any other details of the last 10 minutes of the show? Thanks!

They chose the rope bridges. The NYorkers were the only team to choose the bananas.

I must not have been watching closely enough last night but...I don't ever remember the Weavers doing the bananas or relics? Which did they choose? I must have spaced out because I remember them being yielded and getting stuck in the mud, but nothing in between!

Relics. They were leaving as Gaghans arrived..and then got stuck once the Gaghans were inside. Edited to make it look like a lot of time elapsed--but I don't think they were stuck for very long.

You've got to love TAR editors...the previews always throw me off! I do an online TAR contest and I always do poorly because I base my guesses on the previews.

Ok I will admit one that bugged me about the Weavers. It was when Mama Weaver said, "I'm sick of doing things I can't do." Isn't the whole point of going on the show (other than a million dollars) doing things that are out of the ordinary and out of your comfort zone? And she said it about two seconds after she got stuck in the mud, it's not like she even really tried that much to get out (or maybe she did, but from the editing it didn't look like it much.)

Next week ought to be interesting seeing Wally go off on his daughters! :earseek:

A Jetski- I drive by the Willamette river almost daily and don't have any type of water craft to take out on it!

But I think an ATV might be fun to have at my parent's property. :scratchin

They did do this as a detour- remember Gus delivering the beers? :rotfl:

That's right!!!!! I totally forgot!

And in one episode--a team member had to do a shot. Wasn't that last season, too?

It was 2 seasons back- I remember colin & christie doing it & I think chip n kim. The models wouldn't do it cause Brandon thought it wasn't ok with their religion....
