Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

I for one have liked this season. I am always laughing at some one because of something that they said or did. I catch myself yelling at the tv, telling one of my favorite teams to hurry up and get where they need to go so they can get ahead of one of my least favorite teams.

I liked the fact that they stayed here in the USA. (Except when they traveled South.) The country has a lot to offer and its wonderful to look at on tv. As some one who has only traveled in US, it was nice to watch the show and get some ideas of places to try to visit in the future. I'm going to Yellowstone next year...and the show gave me a few places I might try to visit on my drive home.

Now don't get me wrong. I like it when they go across the pond. But I'm glad they took this season off. Maybe with the time they have had to get this show on the air. They took it as a chance to look for some new locations for next season. I know that I am getting really tired of them going to INDIA. It seems that when ever they go there, the women get grooped and some one is always trying to take something from them. I mean have they been to Australia yet? What about New Zeland? Ireland? Scottland? Italy? Greece? I think the list can go on and on. (I haven't watched every season. I think I am missing a couple.) They seem to travel to the same few spots every year, with a couple of new ones thrown in here and there. I hope that when the new season starts they will be showing some places that they haven't been to yet.

Yes they have been to Australia and NZ--I'm blanking on the season--I think it was the one with Will and what's her face.

They were driving RV's and I believe they hearded sheep in New Zealand.

You should watch the reruns that are on now on GSN. They've been to Sydney, Australia and into the bush country, and Aberdeen, Scotland via London and Oxford. Great stuff (especially since I've been to Aberdeen)..

I think this season has been slow paced and uneventful. In the first episode they drove from New York, to New Jersey to Philadelphia. Wow. It gets more interesting when they have to figure out flights, and yell at people in different countries in VERY LOUD VOICES :rotfl:

I have enjoyed the scenery in the western US, but they don't stop to enjoy it anyway....

Bumping for tonite-I think it is going to be a 2 hour show.

I love this show-I don't think it is one bit boring.
I know I will probably make people mad but

GO WEAVER'S!!! :cheer2:

I think it is only a 1 hour show-biggest loser is 2 hours though--and they overlap..HO HUM!

OhMari--no one should get mad for who you root for. We can be mad if they win---but supporting them on the DIS has no bearing on the outcome ;).

I'm right there with you! Go Weaver's!!!!

The Weavers have a good shot...

Just look at the players on other seasons who were whining and saying I quit only to end up winning. A total shame, but it has happened before.

I don't think it will be a shame if they win. It is so hard to get an explanation on this thread why I want the Weaver's to win. Yes the mom shouldn't let them get away with some of the comments they make-I'll agree with that. But having kids pretty much the same age-I can so relate-it just upsets me how people will rip on what the girls are wearing-but say nothing on the way the other teams are talking about them.

The Weaver girls have lost trust in the other teams-you think they would trust any adult that talks smack about them and then tries to be their friend the next. I think all the other adult teams are just afraid that teenagers and their mom just might beat them. Especially the 3 brothers and their sister.

The other teams are only reciprocating what has been sent their way. The Weavers tend to start the nast comments etc from teh editing anyhow so why should the other teams have to deal with that and not say anything they are well within their right to comment back after hearing some of the things teh Weavers have said. I really hope the Weavers are sent packing tonight.

Actually--they were quoted as saying they were to trust no one but God. So they can't lose trust in someone they never trusted in the first place.

I think they are an excellent team in terms of what they have and can accomplish. I do not believe they deserve to win though.

QUOTE]

When I heard them say that, I felt they said it after they have been (dumped) on by the other teams. The mom was quoted as saying, she has never done anything like this before with her kids, even bike riding- Isn't that wierd-but after being yielded and picked on, then they made that statement.

Mom has enough issues of her own to deal with, inlcuding saying nasty comments about the other teams. The kids are simply a chip off the same blech... I mean block.

From the first show, the Waevers had said that the only people they could count on were them selves and God. But then they turn around and start to cry becauses they are not part of the crowd, and that the other teams are not helping them. This is something that they brought on themselves. I truely feel that the mom thought that becauses she was a recent widow, that the other teams were going to bend over back wards to help her and her kids with the race, even let them win. But now thart they are in it, and they see that they really have to work for what they have, and that is not making them happy. The other teams are only treating the Weavers the way the Weavers are treating them. And I have no problem with that. I truely hope that the Weavers are going home tonight. I really am sick and tired of ther whinning about how they are in it all by themselves and that no one likes them. And then try to start fights with the teams who YIELD them. They did it to themselves. I don't feel sorry for them at all.

:cheer2: GO LINZ FAMILY!!! :cheer2:

I can't remember the previews for this week, but the info button on my digital cable guide has peaked my interest. Should be fun to watch. Sounds like something they did last season. I'll white it out in case anyone doesn't want to know.

>>A surprise ending catches the teams off guard when they arrive at the mat.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but one of the daughters did say they were raised not to trust anyone other than family. Not that they were warned or cautioned, but that they were "raised not to trust". They have no room to complain when others aren't nice to them.

SRUAlum, that's what my guide says too. I wonder.....(highlight to read)

if someone is going to be stuck with a penalty at the end that throws them out of the race.

Oh, maybe. I thought it sounded more like they were going to...

>>Remember last season when they got to the pit stop and Phil said surprise, this is really just where you get your next clue and then the leg continued for a lot longer. I didn't think they'd do that with kids in the race, so who knows!

I think this is really where the Weaver's started showing their true colors. Up to this episode, I didn't notice much of anything going on between the teams, but to me, an innocent question about whether they got a flight or not, they could of said no, they did not have to completely ignore.....

THE ENEMY
During the hours before the flight to Charleston boarded, Linda Weaver and her family, not overly familiar with airline transportation, decided to ask the ticket agents some general questions about what to expect. Their inquisition drew the attention of the Schroeder and Aiello families who assumed the Weavers were trying to sneak onto a better flight. As the Weavers walked away from the counter, Kevin, from the Aiello family, asked them if they found another flight, but the Weavers didn’t answer. An annoyed David sniped, “I hate them,” before promptly telling the Schroeder family of their perceived snub. Char Schroeder believed the Weavers were “just playing mind games,” while Stassi added, “They’re pissing me off.” Now, not trusting the Weavers, Char became concerned when stepson Hunter chatted up Rolly Weaver. Fearing Hunter may give away information to Rolly, Char told him to “get away from the kid.” In response, Hunter told Rolly, “She’s a *****.”

Did the pink sisters ever get a time credit for when the production crew drained their car battery? Remember last week, they left first, but lost time because they had to wait for a replacement car. In past seasons, when the lost time was due to production, the team always got a time credit.
