Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

Just from posts around the web including someone who spoke with Gretchen about it at a party during the finale. Not great sources of course, but like I previously stated, I wouldn't be surprised if they were just covering it up. I had no idea she went public about it, from what I heard, she kept denying it.

But, even if she did write the blogs, I don't remember them being very nasty. Not everyone has to like everyone else, and what she wrote about Romber wasn't all that mean to begin with. In fact, most of the teams were pretty much anti-Romber, and I don't blame them, they had their reality fame, whats the point in letting them onto another show. (what fascinates me about this is that we have not seem the same resistance against Steph and BJ on S11.)

I only mentioned Mr. Gaghan "swearing" (saying son of a ***** and dammit) because I thought it unfair that people here were complaining that other families were saying these words, but the nobody complained about the Gaghans (who seem to be fan favorites here) who did the same thing. I could care less how people speak and whether its censored or not.

I don't care WHO it was that was swearing...all I know is I heard SOB a few times and I wasn't even payingattention to who said it, just that they DID say it!

I don't remember her whining and complaining all that much (maybe it was the voice?) but she was a trooper. )

::::::::::THUD:::::::are you serious?? I watched it recently on the game show network and all I thought the whole time was "I can't stand that womans whining all the time!".......the whining and the "Oh merediths" were driving me nuts!!!

I actually didn't mind the Paolo family too much this week but I would slap that older boy silly...no way would he talk to me like that....although I do have to say that the mother is really annoying.

How about the woman who hijacked the bus and told the dad and daughters that she knew where they needed to go then proceeds to have the bus driver drop her off at work for the free ride and left them high and dry!! I was ROTFL!!!

I tried to find it again but failed.

Gretchen had a blog that was updated as each episode aired last season. That "nice" lady had some nasty things to say about the other people behind their backs. As you might guess, Amber was the top target.

I remember it got most of it's attention after the accident because of the comments about how Rob and Amber didn't stop.

I never understood that. It's like the people complaining didn't notice that there was a helicopter and chase cars shooting the whole thing. They had the situation fully covered without any of the teams stopping to get involved.

I was actually VERY upset that Rob & Amber didn't stop, I don't care how many camera crews are around, if I saw a car turned over, that was carrying two people I know, with one guy lying on the ground, I would stop.....just like EVERY other team did.......but that's just me.... :confused3

Me too--but my husband is practical. I wasn't too upset with what they did. Witnessing an event is much different than coming upon it. I stop for anything witnessed..but not necessarily for things that already occurred.

"Oh Meredith" does not equal complaining. Whining maybe, but I don't remember her as a complainer.

But, I'll just shut up because my opinion obviously differs from most here. I've always lvoed the teams that many people seem to be bugged by (Teri/Ian from TAR3, Gretchen/Meredith, The Paolo Family), but I did dislike Colin/Christy, The Guidos, FloZac, and of coruse, Jonathan and Victoria)

Plus the sooner this family edition is over the better as far as I am concerned. Let's hope CBS doesn't decide to change a winning format again.

Nancy

Then why are you watching? I am so tired of all this negative crap. If everyone hates this edition, then why are you still watching?

I am not trying to be mean, but it's just overly repetitive. I'm sure I'll get flamed; oh well.

Anyway, I loved Tuesday's episode. It was fun to hear all the andale, andale, vamanos! And boy, did the Gaghans have some bad luck! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Can't wait till next week; hope the Gaghans improve a little. :)

No flames from me! I like the show as it is. It is just different and with 4-person teams it is going to be slower going. But nothing wrong with it. So some key elements are different. Big deal!

Because as much as it sucks, I still want to see who wins :rotfl2: I'm the type who, once I start watching a show, I hate to just STOP. My curiousity gets the better of me.

And it wasn't bleeped.

What does bleeping have to do with it? Not all swear words are bleeped. If I said "damnit" in grade school I would get in trouble for swearing. It's a swear word, but it's just not bleeped on TV. Doesn't mean they are legally required to NOT bleep it though. Or mute it out.

Usually they bleep things because it adds to the schock value the muted swears are much more seamless.

Whoa, WHAT is going on! I was just going to quote someone's post. They said I misunderstood something in regards to bleeping...but now it's gone. Creepy!

I also think that ball hit by the Weaver kid, was intentionally not picked up. It rolled so slow, there's no way the pitcher missed that by accident. I'm sure the players were probably told if they hit the ball, let them get to first, as it was not so easy for some of them to even make contact.

I also think something was up with the plane tickets, it's not just 12 seats, it's actually 18, each team travels with a camara and video guy. I can't believe a flight actually had 18 empty seats on it ;)

I agree. They were obviously flubbing the ball. The point of the task was to get a hit. Once they got the hit, the task was complete.

I agree the point was to hit the ball, but it said get a base it. That is why I was upset. I know I would have played different if all I had to do was make contact.

Did not look like the pitcher was really "bringing the heat"...also some of the fielding and throws to first looked a little suspect.

Are you sure that is what you read? ;)

Well who knows.....the editing may have changed that. Perhaps no one could get a hit and they had to have the pitcher ease up....just a thought.
:confused3
