Amazing Race All Star starts 2/23/14 Offical Thread no spoilers

Did they seriously show Brendan playing the "this is for my kid" card in the finale next week? I thought he was pretty decent but that is ridiculous and talk about being manipulative. I also thought it was hysterical that Rachel started off talking about how proud she is of how she has been and that she hasn't freaked out at all, yeah right!!

Every time Rachel starts yapping about needing to win a million dollars so they can have a baby, I want to throttle her. Didn't she win a chunk of change on BB? Did she spend all that or is she delusional enough to think it takes $1,000,000 to have a baby? Chemistry degree or not, she comes off as a dimwit.

I silently beg them to please not procreate!! :scared: :sad2:

Wouldn't it just be SO. DAMNED. FUNNY. (not!!!!!!!) if the country singers wound up winning this season. The one team who needed help from every other team and wound up getting said help. Had the other, much, MUCH stronger teams not helped them those girls would have been long gone by now.

Why? Is the world overcome with educated individuals with strong wills for adventure and hard work. Yeah, too many of them.

Hmmm, well, I guess if they DO have children Rachel can join in on the temper tantrums. Show them how to shed crocodile tears and babble incoherently. Give them a run for the title of Who's the Whiniest. ;)

With such ugly things being said about Rachel, I want to defend her. Everyone has meltdowns. I bet being on the AMAZING RACE is a lot of pressure. I would be physically and mentally exhausted. I think editing plays a big roll in how the contestants come off. Connor and Dave are back to being charming after acting nasty for a couple if episodes. Their interviews at the beginning always have clues to the episode. The Afganimals said .... Spoiler so I won't say.... And look what happened. Rachel said she's happy for her limited meltdowns and hello, cue waterworks.

And needing a million to have a baby, maybe they would like a little more savings. Brendon is getting his phd, correct? So that means he's probably not getting a huge paycheck. I can honestly say that we saved before having children. I applaud anyone who understands that having a baby costs money.

Yes, Rachel did have a meltdown after the boot thing but I understood why. They wanted to make sure they didn't get eliminated so they would be one of the 3 teams racing for the million dolloars next week. Can't say I blame her for that meltdown, I would have cried too.

I still think she's acted MUCH better this season than in the past, and after people making fun of her and making hurtful comments about her, especially Dave, I'm cheering for Rachel and Brendan to win.

Can't say I was sorry to see the Afghanimals go.

Really looking forward to the final, that last entrance looks amazing! They have to skydive? Wow! And no one knows who the winning team is until they land? :thumbsup2

She couldn't show them any crocodile tears as she is the queen of the tearless cry.

Perhaps they used that as their strategy, get people to help the cute, harmless girls.

Brendan told her if they win they can have a baby.

He also referred to himself specifically as an "impoverished PhD student". Have they forgotten that BB was a television show and was broadcast internationally? Even with a wedding and post-graduate tuition you'd think there would have been enough to live on for at least a few years...

Sigh, as always we're now down to me having NO team to root for. Dave is just SO icky - I'd rather listen to Rachel weep any day over his obnoxious implications about how his age should command some sort of special treatment.

Didn't Brendan and Rachel say that they came in third last time for not reading the final clues correctly???? I would think they would have been more on top of the small details especially now that it is the end of the race. As Brendan even said at the beginning of last night's leg "play smarter not harder" when Rachel was running off without knowing which direction they should go. And she also said she hasn't freaked out this "entire time" which is quite different than not freaking out too much.

As for Brendan saying that they need to win the money in order for them to have a baby, that is very controlling and unfair to her. It did not make them more sympathetic to me just pathetic. Using "the baby" to get people to help them on the final leg was tough to hear without feeling like they don't have a freaking clue, I don't care how educated they apparently are they are ding dongs in my book.

She only won $ 500,000 on Big Brother 13.

Oh, I see. Well that is a completely different story. Heaven knows it is simply impossible to have a baby if you only have $500,000. What kind of moron thinks you can become a parent for less than $1,000,000? :rolleyes2

If my DH had held the carrot of "I'll let you have a baby if we win the million," I'd have to ask what kind of a.....donkey......I was married to.

How come Connor is doing ALL of the challenges? For at least the past 4 weeks, Connor has done them. This may have already been discussed on this thread or on the show itself, but I thought they had to have an even amount split between the 2 team members, no? Speaking of Connor . . . shaking my head at his soccer ball kicking abilities.

There was no excuse for Rachel misreading that clue. In the interview last night, they said they walked away with knowing that they have to really read the clue. Wow, I could've sworn I heard them say that same exact thing the last time that happened.

I don't want Dave and Connor to win. Even though Connor doesn't bother me as much as Dave, they just rub me the wrong way. If I have to hear Connor say "holy crap" one more time . . . or Dave saying "ruptured achilles" -- good grief!

The girls absolutely don't deserve to win, but hats off to them for a good leg last night. I guess I'll be rooting for Brendan/Rachel, but I really wish the cowboys were still in it.
