Hi folks,
I went cruising for the first time last year on a Carnival cruise. Of course, Disney was my initial preference but a cove balcony for 7 days on Carnival was costing U$ 2.200 for the 4 of us against 4.500 for an inside cabin on the Disney one.
With the kids still young, I keep searching for good deals on the Disney Cruise, but they can't be seen too often.
I was surprised to see the prices for the 4 of us on a 5 night to Canada/New England out of New York in September.
If you go to their website and select September 7th or 12th, the price for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) will come to 2.192.00 after taxes.
In August, for example, the cheapest I could find was 7.000 on a balcony (sold out on inside cabins).
I called Disney and they explained the catch.
This fare is called IGT (with restrictions):
- you need to pay now, at time of booking.
- it's 100% non-refundable, they sell insurance (medical, death and cancellation) for around 150.00 for the 4 of us.
- there's no guarantee of cabin. It's whatever they don't sell. you could end up with the worst cabin on the ship or a deluxe one, in case this is what's left.
Too bad we can't take vacation at that time of the year. Isn't this possible the best price on a Disney cruise you guys have seen for 5 nights? Google Maps shows as being 8.5 hours from Mississauga, so Ontarians can possibly drive there?
Hope someone can take advantage of this.
