Hi folks,
I went cruising for the first time last year on a Carnival cruise. Of course, Disney was my initial preference but a cove balcony for 7 days on Carnival was costing U$ 2.200 for the 4 of us against 4.500 for an inside cabin on the Disney one.

With the kids still young, I keep searching for good deals on the Disney Cruise, but they can't be seen too often.

I was surprised to see the prices for the 4 of us on a 5 night to Canada/New England out of New York in September.

If you go to their website and select September 7th or 12th, the price for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) will come to 2.192.00 after taxes.

In August, for example, the cheapest I could find was 7.000 on a balcony (sold out on inside cabins).

I called Disney and they explained the catch.

This fare is called IGT (with restrictions):

- you need to pay now, at time of booking.
- it's 100% non-refundable, they sell insurance (medical, death and cancellation) for around 150.00 for the 4 of us.
- there's no guarantee of cabin. It's whatever they don't sell. you could end up with the worst cabin on the ship or a deluxe one, in case this is what's left.

Too bad we can't take vacation at that time of the year. Isn't this possible the best price on a Disney cruise you guys have seen for 5 nights? Google Maps shows as being 8.5 hours from Mississauga, so Ontarians can possibly drive there?

Hope someone can take advantage of this.

Disney won't be sailing out of New York next year, they're moving the Magic back to the Mediterranean instead.

We just booked a 3 night cruise on the disney dream (bahamas)for sept 12,2013.There will be 3 adults Me,DH and DD(22)

We have a Deluxe HA family stateroom with Verandah, total cost incl all taxes, insurance and transfers from WDW was 2100.00

The earlier you book the chesper rates you get.

Too bad its so long a wait.

Here is a good deal that is probably still available.

We booked a 5 night Bahamas cruise on the Dream.

The departure date is August 24 but August 18 was also available. We booked an OGT room with restrictions. We paid 2922 for 4 people. That price was pretty reasonable and was a great itinerary with 2 stops at Castaway Cay.

We often wait for Disney's kids sail free deals too but they are few and far between.

Next years sailings from Miami to the Caribbean are a great price! On the Wonder. Did the Dream this year and didn't think we could manage to afford another one next year but these are great prices! 5 nights. 2 sea days (our favourites!) and castaway cay! Worth a look. I looked at lots of other cruise lines for the same period and DCL came out cheapest!!

There do seem to be certain dates and itineraries that are much less expensive than others. For our upcoming cruise, the dates we chose were about $1000 cheaper for the 4 of us to sail at the end of March break than at the beginning. Go figure. It definitely pays to look at a variety of dates and room classifications.
I do think DCL rates are exorbitant, we are paying $2200 for 3 nights in a verandah cabin, whereas our last 7 night cruise on NCL in a mini suite cost $2700  I know DCL doesn't have the casino and alcohol revenue streams that the other lines do, but it still seems like a lot of money. Yet somehow, I'm still paying it lol!

We paid $1500 for 2 adults and 2 kids, 5 & 2, last February on the dream for 3 nights. And this was for a balcony guarantee room. So we had to pay up front and were guaranteed a balcony, just not sure which one. We ended up getting a 4c cabin. Sooooo nice.
A few wks ago I saw an inside guarantee room on the fantasy for 7 nights for $2200 for all 4 of us. Crazy cheap. And it was VERY hard not to book.
The guarantee rooms are pretty much the cheapest way to get on board.

Best bet is always book first day they go on sale. Yes it is a long wait but definitely cheaper. It also allows you to book air once it goes on sale. Our booking for the Fantasy for March Break has doubled in price since they were released earlier this year.
