Am I waiting too long to reserve?

I am such a HUGE planner that I always have my rooms booked as soon as I know I am headed to WDW, which is about a year in advance. Never a spur of the moment girl. Here's the problem:
I have 5 nights booked at the BWV's. We decided to add an extra night to our trip. YAYAY!!! So to rent points for a Friday would have cost double and I kinda want to stay somewhere else for a change of scene. SOOOO we decided to move for one night to the WL. I have done this before so no big deal. I checked the prices and it would be $266 without a discount. I really want to wait another billing cylce before booking. SInce it is only one night I will need to pay right away.
Am I pushing my luck to wait this long to make a ressie. We have 6 months till the trip and I will be booking 5 months out. Will I have trouble?

You never can tell. Cancellations happen all of the time. You can reserve a room and they will hold it for 2 weeks without a deposit. So you could book it 2 weeks before your next billing cycle and call on the day that the deposit it due.

Ah good point! I will just need to remember to call back? Or do they still send you a reservation paper? In the past I just paid in full. That was before "THE HOUSE"!

I'm not sure if you'll get confirmation but if you forget to call back you will lose your reservation.

They do not send anything to confirm a courtesy hold. You will need to mark your calander to remember to call.

The computer automatically wipes the courtesy hold after exactly two weeks.

I never make my reservations until the AP codes come out and I always get just what i want(hope I didnt just jinx myself)! Currently my entire trip for June 29th-July 12th is booked except for two days that I am still awaiting codes for.....Wish me luck!!!! Have fun on your trip!!!
