Heading to Disney and will be there for my birthday, we have 9:30PM reservations for California Grill and lunch reservations for Crystal Palace. I'm just not sure if I am really into characters, this will be my 20th bday. Any experiences? What do you think?

I was there for one of my birthdays, maybe my 29th and had a great time. DH told our server it was my birthday and all the characters came over and took a picture with me. They also gave me a card signed by all of them! I loved every minute of it. You are never too old at WDW. It's the only place adults can be a kid and get away with it!!:lmao:

BTW, the lunch there is great and has a huge variety. We will be there again in a few weeks!

Nope, you are never too old to enjoy Crystal Palace. If it sounds like it appeals to you, then you are young enough to enjoy it.

No way I love that place. It just sucks now cause my son thinks Pooh is for babies..... mind you my son is only 5! ( he is still a baby...lol..)

I will be there this year for my 27th Birthday... Yea! I will also be dining at CP but for breakfast not lunch. I love their puffed french toast... :worship: hehehe My DH and I go to Disney regularly and we always do character meals. We have 4 planned for our upcoming trip. I enjoy the photo ops and they are just all around fun. So go and enjoy yourself and transform into your inner child. ;)

I'm 30 (and I don't admit that to many people!!) and I adore Crystal Palace! Got 2 ADR's to go there in May!!

Well I guess it depends on you. I'm 34, DW is 31 and we have three kids and we *all* love the characters. That being said, the buffet is "okay" there and we had a good time.

We were just there a week ago and we loved it, we are two adults in our 40's with no kids. If you're a big Disney fan I think you'll have a great time. We're booked for Chef Mickey's in Sept., soooo much fun.

You're never too old (or too fat!) to love CP!

We're well over 40 & I am a Chubbalina, we both had our pics taken & I joined the conga line! pooh: :tigger:

I won't say DSthen18 was real pleased by my getting up and dancing :rotfl:

Go and Enjoy &

:bday: :cake:

I'll be celebrating my 30th b-day in 12 days from now at the Crystal Palace! Woo Hoo! You're never too old :goodvibes

It (CP) is an awesome place, we ate there twice last trip and will eat there again this trip! :goodvibes

On the last trip we were 39, 40, and had a teenager and we all enjoyed it! The food is yummy, the characters are adorable, and CP is beautiful! :)

Go and enjoy! :woohoo:

You don't have to get up and dance do you?
And what is the character interaction like? I've been to Disney once, for one day, and never had any interaction with characters...

Well -- I'm 41 and I can't wait to meet eeyore!!! :yay: And if they offer the conga line, i will join that too (probably with rolling eyes from my teenage daughters!)
That's what I think is so magical about Disney -- when you go thru those gates, you turn into an 8-year-old again.

Usually it's just the young kids that get up and dance, but occasionally summer older folks will join in too. Character interaction can be as much or as little as you like. If you do not want to be bothered by them you can simply wave to them as they walk by. They will definitly stop at your table if you have a camera or autograph book out, or if you specifically invite them to your table as they pass. I have seen adults just wave and say "hi" to tigger or pooh as they pass and that was it.

:rotfl2: :rotfl:

No, you are not too old! My dad and I went, just the 2 of us, for breakfast. And I had just turned 40 at the time. No one looked at us wierd. The characters still came and gave me hugs. The Crystal Palace is one of my favorite places to eat, and I don't worry about being too old. We are all just big kids at Disney, anyway.:goodvibes

I turned 50 last year and I love all the characters...especially Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore. We went to Crystal Palace and they put confetti on the table for my birthday (along with ribbons, a flower, a signed birthday card and a cupcake with a candle. I had a blast! Go for it--you'll love it.

DH and I went here before we even had kids and not for the characters but for the buffet. We would belly up to the food bar for a late lunch and not eat again til we left the park. We didn't have autograph books or even a camera. So, the characters would just politely wave, maybe shake our hand or and move on. We just thought it was better to spend only a little more for all-you-can-eat then the counter service restaurants.

there is such as thing as too old for CP??
NEVER!:tigger:

we are taking DFIL for his 63 BD next month- although my 15YO DSS thinks he's too old for CP-

but then again he knows everything ;)
