I'm 30, does that make me too old? I kind of feel silly but I really like the pins and I want a lanyard with pins.

I'm in my 50's and trade pins with CMs! No problem--note that some CMs have a teal colored lanyard, apron that means they only trade with kids. But most trade with adults.

I'd say definitely not! I've seen people of all ages around the parks with their lanyards on.

You are never to old to trade pins!!! It's fun for all ages :) Go pin tradding wild :)!!!

Well, I am 34...so I hope not...::rolleyes1 :laughing:

I don't have a lanyard, but I have two full shadow boxes that hold my tea cups pin collection above my desk that I just love.....

Yes. You are really old and people will point and laugh.

;) I see lots of adults with pins- there are so many cute ones and they are a nice small souvenir. I haven't gotten any yet, but they are tempting. You could collect one from each trip as a memory!

I just turned 57 and I got hooked on pins a few years ago. You are never too old this side of the grave!

P.s. Oh, and I don't trade mine! I keep them!

I'm 41 and a pin collector, not trader!

I see people of all ages trading pins in the park! Go for it!!!

You are never too old ~ pin trading is a very fun activity to do while at the parks and resorts ~~ I ♥ pin trading ~ I never leave home without my pins ;)
Pin trading is for all ages ~ and honestly no one will look at you funny because you're trading pins ~~ I think more people of all ages trade than don't!

Have fun!!

Never too old...last year when getting my daughter and myself a pin we ran into a grandma and grandpa tha were in the park, without kids or grandkids, and loaded with th neatest pins and stories of where they came from...you go and enjoy :)

Nope; definitely not too old. Actually, I see maybe even more adults with pins than kids with pins at the Park :thumbsup2

Actually - that's what I love about Disney. I'm not too old for anything! I'm not too old to collect or trade pins. I'm not too old to ride on Winnie the Pooh three times in a row. I'm not too old to buy a stuffed Beaker toy. I'm not too old to sing along to any and all songs. :rotfl2:

I get to enjoy Disney with all the childlike wonder and enthusiasm I want! :woohoo:

PS I'm 33 going on 7. :rotfl:

I almost bought a stuffed Beaker last trip and then later wished I got it! He's my favorite! :lovestruc

As for pins, I get to wear mine everyday to work on my keychain lanyard! princess:

L - You're killing me. DH will probably make fun of me, but what does he know? Pins are cool! I found myself drawn to the pin area of all the stores thinking, oh I want that one, no that one. I think I will get a bunch from e-bay and have a great time trading. Then just get a new one each trip. Once I have the ones I love I probably won't be doing much trading.

Can you believe I'm 30??? Seems like just yesterday we were in college!

Thanks for the tip on the the teal lanyards, I'll stay away from them and let DD just trade with them.

We are still 8 months away from our trip, I'm going crazy. I want to go right now!

Pin trading is SO fun ~ we all love it in our family :)
To make it more fun while waiting (before we moved 10 miles from Disney World :rotfl:) We would order our pins off of eBay early so we could go through them and decide which ones we'd want to keep and which ones we would trade. We got lanyards too ~ and got them all ready ~~ and the kids would pull them out and trade pins regularly ~ it was great fun while waiting to go to WDW :thumbsup2
If you need any help deciding who to buy from on eBay just PM me ~ I've purchased pins from quite a few sellers over the years ;)
Have fun ~ I know you will !

My DH and i on our trip got lanyards and pins - initially he was unsure about it when we went to Soda Fountain *** they had a pile of them on special but when he went to DL and DCA he really enjoyed it and loved that he got asked to pin swap with a little kid - the kid came up to him....

What are the pin trading *rules*??

Pin trading is pretty simple. There aren't many rules to remember, and it's easy as long as you are trading with a cast member. (There are non Cast Member traders in the parks and DTD sometimes. I avoid them because they seem a little intimidating to me and I rarely have valuable enough pins for them to even consider trading with me.)

With a Cast Member, you can ask to trade a pin from their lanyard/book for one of your pins (you don't have to be wearing your pins on a lanyard - I carry mine in a baggie in my purse). The pin you offer must be an official Disney pin (there is a copyright Disney logo on the back). So long as the Cast Member does not already have same pin, they are usually happy to trade with you (they aren't supposed to say no).

The only exception are the teal colored lanyards; these are for trading with children only. So if you're an adult, don't ask to trade with a Cast Member wearing a teal lanyard (they're usually really nice about remind you).

There might be other rules, but these are the ones that I've used in the past and haven't encountered other situtations where different/additional rules might come into play.

I love to trade pins...and with regards to the OP's question, I agree that you can never be too old to trade pins. I'm in my thirties and I love to trade pins, as does my mother!

There is totally nothing wrong with wanting a pin lanyard. I dunno if there is stipulations on age of trading, but there is certainly nothing wrong with wanting one. There are countless adults walking around with them on.

Hey I am 27 and I go to work and have a ton of them on my work vest. I know I may look a little silly but you have no idea how many comments I get on them. Many people recognize them and want to talk with you about trips to Disney etc. It's always a lot of fun.
