Am I too early? Confused

When I logged on to the WDW site it says that I have 180 days until my vacation. The first reservation I have puts us arriving on 1/6 and leaving on 1/8. Shouldn't I be able to make reservations for the 6th, 7th, and 8th? When I put in my reservation number I can do one search for a reservation, it was CRT for breakfast on the 7th, and it says nothing is available. I then tried searching CRT for lunch on the 7th and it says that I am too far out to schedule.

I called dining reservations and went through the automated thing and they told me I was a day early, that I have to be checking in on 1/5 in order to make reservations. So do I have to be at 179 days to make a reservation? Everything I've tried, just for curiosity has come up with no available reservations or I get a notice that I am not within my window.

I'm almost positive that last year I made reservations on the 180 day mark. I was up at 5am and had no trouble.

It is 180 days out for your trip, I used the dining calculator. Are you clicking the link that says 'I want to use my dining plan to book reservations' ? If that's not working, I'd call and talk to someone.
