Am I the only one?

I completely agree :) and I'm glad I'm not alone. I love the IDEA of Epcot but we've yet to actually enjoy being there. When I get home I think I'll go again next year and try something different but we haven't found the magic formula yet. Maybe because the last few times were super hot? I don't know but it's my least favorite too so don't feel too alone :)

I LOVE EPCOT for the same reason that my son doesn't. It allows me to take it slow. I don't feel rushed when I'm there. Even though Future World has a few headliners, I mostly enjoy the "feeling" of being there(Especially at night). It's very tranquil. We always split EPCOT into 2 days. Future World day and World Showcase day. WS gives my wife the opportunity to shop and me the chance to take it all in. It just doesn't "feel" like a theme park.

I'd be very interested to know if the original poster had ever experienced Epcot pre-1994. Back when was E.P.C.O.T. Center?

I must admit that even though the current Epcot is still my favorite park at WDW, I miss Communicore, the Living Seas, Listen to the Land, the "Walter Cronkite" Spaceship Earth, World of Motion, Journey into Imagination, and most of all, Horizons. Not to mention the littler things. I still remember the total sense of awe and worderment I had when we made same-day dining reservations with WorldKey.

There was a time where Future World really felt like a glimpse of the future (or at least like a very, very cool science museum). The current version has gotten a little muddled in its purpose. I'm not one of those people who wishes is remained exactly the way it was on opening day, but I wish they had added more than I feel they've removed over the years.

This is exactly the reason why I'm not crazy about Epcot now. I loved it as a kid back in the 80s, and for all the reasons listed above. It was such a unique experience back then, it definitely had a cool "science museum" feel to it, and maybe I'm a big nerd, but I loved that. I miss Horizons. I miss Dreamfinder and a Figment I didn't want to strangle. I miss having a live person in my Living with the Land boat. And I don't feel like these were replaced with upgrades. The one exception is Kim Possible. THAT is awesome, and IMHO, so much in the spirit of the original EPCOT center. When we went last October, that was the highlight of our day.

When I was younger I didn't care for it much but now I'm older I love it! Most of my family isn't a big fan though they only like 1/2 days there, it drives me bonkers
