Am I the only one...

We save MK for later in our trip also. It's not something that is done purposely, but on our last trip we didn't hit MK until day 4. However, when I go back with my son, I'm going to make it our first park.

I think I am going to do MK last. My DD is going to be 4 when we go and she only knows the castle. I don't want her to be disappointed with the other parks so I think I will save MK till the end.

Guilty! Yes we are doing MK first (to me, the trip just doesn't start until you walk down Main st)
Our first day will be a Sunday, so I know it will be crowded, so instead of worrying about rides we will spend the first day hitting shows, parades, characters, penny machines, etc... But since we are doing an eleven day trip, we will still have two full days at the MK to do all the rides we want.
I like that plan. It's great to walk down Main st. to start your trip. I almost planned our next trip that way, but since we only have 6 days this time, it's been harder to fit everything (including MVMCP) in. I ended up changing our first day to Epcot so I'd be able to get 2 mornings at MK. I just love being able to head straight to Fantasyland one morning and Tomorrowland on the second morning.

We do MK last - save the best for last! Last year we did MGM, then Epcot, then MK (three days). This year we are doing MGM, Epcot for a full day, Epcot for a half-day followed by MK for MVMCP, then full day at MK (four days total).

We always start at MGM for a few hours and then head to MK and stay there unless till closing, it depends on which park is staying open late that night :woohoo:

No matter how early our flight out is in the morning, it seems that we always arrive in Orlando, about 2 or so and then with check in and finding our room and settleing in, it is usually about 4 or so before we are able to start out for the parks. We always have dinner at Chef Mickeys and then head to Epcot. The DGDs, who are age 10, have to see Illuminations the first night. It is my favorite and I guess that I have "brainwashed" them! :rotfl: Usually, the first full day is the Magic Kingdom. They have to have breakfast at the Crystal Palace at the earliest time so that they can have Main Street and the Castle to themselves! That might be more of my "brainwashing", too!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We're doing AK first, and that seems to be a trend for us... it's actually all about the crowd levels with us and usually on our first day, AK is the least crowded! :)

Does it have to be my first park? No, but if I don't see it within 24 hours of arrival...I feel all icky and weird.

I ran into this when planning for my next trip. If I had gone by the initial way things worked out I wouldn't have been to MK until my third day. So I just scheduled a couple of hours at the MK early the first day, so I don't get that "how can I be at Disney and I haven't even seen the castle yet" feeling.

Are completely determined upon which days are the least crowded. We are going to get to them all so I also would rather choose our days based on non-EMH and least crowded schedules. Usually we do MK on a Tuesday. It works!

Personally, my favorite is Epcot, with Animal Kingdom in 2nd place. But, with the youngin's they are enthralled with seeing the castle in person, then hitting POTC. So MK first it will be!

No, you are not the only one. We arrive late Friday night and are beginning with AK on Saturday, MGM on Sunday and MK on Monday. MK does have EMH on Sunday night so we might do that and then Monday is MVMCP so are rethinking what to do a little. But we will see what happens.

DH and I always stop in MK first to let the dis-reality begin. We always book our flights as far in advance as we can to get the earliest flight in (and the latest flight out) so as soon as we check our bags at the resort-we head on over to MK. Usually we just walk around a bit and take in the sights and may head out to another park. The first full day usually depends on things such as season, early entry, weather and so forth. Dh and I always end our trip with a walk-through MK as well. :goodvibes

It really depends on two things - how late we get to go to a park on the first day, and where our dinner ADR's are.

Last year, we arrived on Friday at 1pm. Dinner was at Akerhaus that night, so we went to Epcot, and didn't get to MK until the next day (when they were taping the Christmas parade - great morning, left in the afternoon, came back during evening).

This year, we arrived Friday around midnight, so we slept late. We went to smaller, less crowded MGM and had dinner at Sci-Fi. We didn't get to MK until Monday, but arrived for breakfast at 8 (Crystal Palace) and got some great shots of Main Street deserted.

Next year, we just book for October, so it's too early to tell.

Always DTD, Epcot, or AK first. Always try to do MK and MGM two days each. They are our favorite parks especially the kids for the rides. Always stay about six/seven days. So MK is between the second and last day. Just have to end trip with MK pixiedust:

We go to MK last as it is our kids' favorite (followed closely by AK). It seems fun to save the best for last.

I usually go to EPCOT first then MGM. Since we usually arrive on a Friday late we try to avoid the Magic Kingdom on the weekends, so we usually don't get to MK until Monday or Tuesday.
