Am I The Only One With SIMPLE Expectations?

Definitely agree with OP. I'm just so happy when I'm there!! Can't be disappointed when you just expect to have fun at Disney World.

How do you know what others think?
.

Your right, I dont know what people think, just what I observe. Good for you if you can afford the Floridian, it looks beautiful. We can't, I just simly saying that you will probably (and should) get better treatment than say our stay at the ASMo. In the spirit of the original thread I think my fellow badger was pointing out people get irritated over the smallest things, I couldn't agree more. Thanks.

Why would people in the GF get a better treatment than guests at the ASMo?

We all have to pay a lot of money and no one should feel themselves better ore superior.
Just enjoy Disney, don’t expect anything and Pixie Dust will come your way .

I agree that too many times people have such high expectations that they seem to be having more fun complaining about everything to be able to enjoy the vacation.
I quess my hubby and I are simple folk we only want a clean room.
And we do hope that our reservations and such are as we planned and payed for but if we feel that we have recieved less that what we wanted, we quietly and politely take it up with a person of authority.
My main goal on vacation(especially in Disney) is to have a good time and to enjoy just sharing that special time with my husband, and to hopefully spread some magic of my own to others. I always pack extra pixie dust:tinker:

I do expect better service than the budget & moderate that is the reason we stay at GF.......

GeoDad I have to respond to you. What an exciting time to have your child at WDW for the first time. I hope you enjoy every minute of it.

After looking at some of the posts I have to say after 100+ trips over the years there has been in many ways (unfortunately:() a huge decline in CMs and service. It does differ from trip to trip but I do sometimes really feel sad that some of that "Magic" will never be felt by all the new WDW lovers as well as those of us who miss it.

I totally agree with you. We are planning our first trip with our one and only "princess" in January. This is only my second post so I will be brief. People expect so much for so little and are so put off in return these days. They should anticipate that if they are paying $82 dollars a night (most likely our rate) they will not be treated like royalty, although on our budget I appreciate the price. Those that pay upwards of $299 or more think they should have foot massages at the end of the day and the staff should know their first names and all their kids names. Folded towels are for cruises, if you get one at WDW you should consider yourself lucky.

I cant wait to take our child, this trip isn't about me. (well I am looking forward to Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise:))

Im also tired of people who sigh and roll their eyes at the grocery store, the bank line, the post office and anywhere else they have to wait for more than 2 minutes. Stop and talk to the person in line to pass the time, you might be amazed! BTW anyone reading this should not go to a theme park if the above mentioned lines get to you!!

Hope you and family are OK, saw you were from Peawaukee, we are very lucky to live smackdab in the middle of Walworth county and away from all the flooding.

Hi Edwin and :welcome: to the DIS:wizard: . You will find amazing info here to assist in your vacation planning.

I agree with your line assessment. We are in an age of immediate gratification. Sadly, patience and what I call "courtesy respect" have been replaced with "it's all about me..."

R/E flooding...I am SO GLAD I live on a hill:worship:

Grace&Carolinesmom Just finished reading your post and it was a good one!

I remember reading a post once with someone complaining about a piece of food (I think it was a piece of bagel or toast) that sat in the corner of their room the entire time they were there. Now I understand where the poster was coming from. Mousekeeping is suppose to be coming in and cleaning the room and they obviously didn't notice the bagel but I think I would have picked that thing up the first night and threw it away! I probably would have even wet a papertowel and blotted the carpet to make sure I had gotten all the crumbs.

I am late to this post, but I completely agree!:thumbsup2

Thanks for vocalizing what I think many of us feel! It is so irritating to read all the complainers. This me, me, me attitude.

I remember showing up for my family's first ever trip to WDW in 1977 when I was just a child and we were completely blown away. We were not expecting anything, and of course it remains the most Magical Trip of all!:goodvibes

:surfweb: I couldn't agree more, peoples expectations seem to get way ahead of them when they are at disney, at least the way it is talked about here

The only problem with this sentiment is that EVERYTHING has changed (some would say for the worst). I absolutely hate cell phones, yeah they are a great convenience but for the most part I think they have turned us into one big insensitive blob of a society, (sorry, if you're a perfect stranger do I really have to hear about your boyfriend sleeping around?) not to mention they are a big public menance on the highways. Let's take a look
1) Shopping at department stores. Remember when the sales staff actually helped you.
2) Gas stations. I'm really telling my age here. Remember when some one pumped, checked your oil and cleaned your windows.
3) customer service #'s. Remember when you called a number and actually got a "human being"

You can play this game forever, the choice I do have is to make my "here and now" magical instead of pining for how it use to be (which only ends in disappointment).
