Am I the only one who doesn't like hot pot restaurants?

Way too much work for me. Isn't the point of dining out so that the restaurant can do all the work? When I'm at a restaurant I prefer to focus on conversation with my party rather than whether I'm overcooking the steak. Maybe I'm just not good at multitasking.

YES! I totally agree. I don't go to restaurants to have to cook my own food. If I wanted to do that, I'd stay at home! I am notoriously lazy when it comes to making & eating food. I do not want to struggle. I do not want it to be messy. You can cut my meat for me for all I care.

Yeah don't like them - went to that ridiculous cheese melting pot place.

Its overpriced and I have to do all the work and still tip.
Taking my wife out to dinner and she does not want to cook.

Id like to try one of the Chinese's ones just have not gotten around to it.

The only places I go out to eat at these days are Korean or Chinese hot pot and Korean BBQ places. They're AYCE and delicious but I understand why people wouldn't enjoy it. Some of the places I go to aren't beginner friendly and automatically assume you know how to cook the meats.

I haven't been to a hot pot restaurant yet, but I'd give it a go. I like the Melting Pot (fondue place). I wouldn't want to go once a week but it's fun every once in awhile for a change. I find it engaging and fun but to each their own.

I have not been to one but would like to try it. I went to a Japanese’s BBQ place with my family last year and we would it fun grilling our meals. Not something for every time but it is a fun experience once in awhile. Something new.

I haven’t been, they’re popping up all over here, my 25 year old loves them, I think it looks fun (and I dislike buffets).

Love Hot Pot, it gets better as things evaporate and the broth thickens into a nice soup. The broth turned soup is very unique to the participants so that is the fun of it. For us it is a fantastic way to linger over a meal and enjoy your family just like when having Fondue. Hot Pot is not for those who prefer quick dining nor is Fondue so if you like to eat and go it will probably be annoying to you.

We like Melting Pot, that's the only hot pot place we've tried. It is pricey though, we usually just make cheese fondue at home.

I've never been to one, except for 1 time at the Melting Pot, over 10 years ago. We enjoyed that, but it was pricey. I am sure they have some hot pot places in Nashville, which isn't too far away, but I'm not aware of any where we live.

Nice, but that doesn't answer OP's question.
Lol I guess I was saying that it looks like it’s regional, with some nit knowing about them and others having a bunch. I do love Asian soups so thats a plus.
