Am I the only one who does this when planning?

It seems like no matter how many times we go back, we always eat at the same places. When our 90 days are approaching we starting thinking which restaurants do we want to try this trip? We start thinking we'll tour the resorts, then next it is Morroco and Cananda, then we'll say, "but what about DTD?" And once our 90 days arrives.....we book at San Angel Inn in Mexico, the Teppanyaki (sp?) in Japan, and a character breakfast either at the Beach Club or Chef Mickey. It seems that this is where we eat every time we go back. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE those places, or we wouldn't keep going back.

But does anyone else have this problem? They want to try new things, be it restaurants or new activities, in WDW, but the old faithfuls are just that...faithful. You know you will enjoy those, so you keep going back.

I have two trips planned, so maybe I'll break out of the mold on one of these.... :rotfl2: yeat right, I can always dream....

Well DH and want to try new places but the kids ALWAYS the same!

What I do to try to get out of a restaurant rut is to reserve our 2 favorite restaurants only. This way we HAVE to try something new but still look forward to our favorites. ALso we try all new places for lunch.

But yes, we are guilty!

We do that too. It seems like kind of a tradition to go to the Rainforest Cafe in DTD on our first night and Pecos Bill in MK. We also get into a rut by staying at the same resort. We say we will try a new one but we love POR so much that when we book it just happens. :confused3

Glad to see there are others in the same boat.

We always have to fit in our favorites, but we also try at least one or two new places each trip.

This next trip, our staples are Le Cellier, Casey's, 'Ohana, Kona for lunch, Beaches & Cream and the new places we'll be doing are Teppanyaki, Kona for dinner, California Grill, F&W Festival, and the MNSSHP.

There are just some places you can't do without. :)

I'm glad to know there are other people who do this same thing! We always end up at Hollywood & Vine before Fantasmic, and we do the same counter service restaurants usually! We are already planning some different restaurants for our next trip (June 2006 :cheer2: ), so maybe we will break out of the rut! :earsgirl:

We always go to our favorites but try to add one new thing each time that way its not the exactly the same and if we dont enjoy we have the others still.

Same problem! Trying to break the cycle this trip by only making PS at two places, but we'll see how successful we are when we get there

:jumping1:Oh, good!! I am not alone!!! :cool1: I was afraid that I was the only one in the rut!! I guess that I am a creature of habit and am afraid of change!
Think that I have found a cure. Maybe. I am going with another family and so they have to have input, right?? I mean, geesh, they might not like shushi and pickled herring!! :rotfl2: this is their first trip and I really should give them a chance to get into their own rut!! :bounce:

we do the same thing. This will be our third trip and it seems that the day we are going to MK we always have Chef Mickey's that morning. I was trying to do something different, but oh well....Chef Mickey's rocks...

We always go to our favorites. Luckly, we are going for 7 nights (our longest trip ever). And we have PS for Mama Melrose and 1900 Park Fare. Places we have never tried.

4 weeks from today I will be arriving at the MK. :cool1:

We have a core group of spots that we eat at every trip and we then try two or three new places.

I am AWFUL at doing that! I've been about 20 times since my first adult trip in '97 and I've eaten at the same sit-down places nearly everytime! I have to make myself try at least one new place per trip.

But when a place is good, it's a keeper!

We are trying a new character meal this time, Breakfastasaurus in AK. :teeth:

But I find it difficult to make dinner ressies, with DS 2 and 5 yr old, I'm not sure if we'll make it in the parks until dinner time or not. May go to food court or order pizza at PO-FQ. Or we may go to the hotel and swim/rest then head back out for dinner, but not sure which parks we'll go to for the evening. Still waiting for Oct hours, too! And, we may go to Epcot Food and Wine for dinners?

So many choices! Have a great weekend! :flower:

This is our first time, so it will all be new to us. I am not surprised people go back to the same places. If you have enjoyed it before, then you assume you will enjoy it again. Don't we all do the same thing at home? So maybe just venture out and try 1 or 2 new places. Who knows maybe they will become your new favourites.

There is nothing wrong with sticking with what you like. It's the same way with the resort. If you like the resort that much, then there is nothing wrong with going back to the same resort.

I am like you. Always Garden Grill! I don't even want to get the character's autograph anymore... I have too many! Same as the pixs!

I just started to venture out a little bit. I just want to see what else is out there.

We seem to always go back to favorites every trip too...I keep trying to convince my DH we need to stay longer so we can try new places ;)
Ryan, we will be at the BWV Dec 10-17 and saw on the "Who's going in Dec" thread that you're going to MVMCP 12/13 too! And you're from Jersey!:flower:

Hey Lella,
Yeah, we will be there! :cool1: The only thing is my family doesn't know it yet. :rolleyes1 This is a surprise trip for all of them, including my DW.

I see you are from "the shore". I grew up heading down to Wildwood and Cape May. After moving around all over the world, I have settled back down in West Orange, NJ just outside of NYC, where I work.

I would love for my DH to surprise me with a trip, but I'm so nosey I'd figure it out :guilty: I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip!
I grew up in Manasquan/Wall and now live in Neptune...we're looking to get back to Wall very soon!
