Am I the only one who does not like a particular Disney character?

I never really cared for most of the princesses. They tend to either be vapid and helpless or impulsive and selfish. Except for Belle, and I thoroughly approve of her. She's explicitly smart/well-read and she's got standards (i.e. doesn't fall into the arms of the first strong-and-handsome to make eyes at her, and ends up falling for someone she's gotten to know).

I  Lilo and Stitch. She reminds me an awful lot of myself when I was little (though I never quite had the guts to punch the kids who were mean to me)

I agree Belle is one of the few princesses with a brain. I think Jasmine has a brain too, and Repunzal is pretty smart too, she was just naive.

Of course, some of the princes are pretty stupid too.

I don't know that I dislike any characters. There are some that I like a lot, and the rest I'm just sort of indifferent to. Since there are characters to appeal to just about every demographic, it doesn't surprise me that there are some people who like villains, some who like princesses, and some who like the classic Mickey and friends.

I have noticed with merchandise that things seem to go in cycles, and they've been in a heavy Tink cycle for a while now. I would expect the classic characters to be more prominent as we get into the 40th anniversary - we'll see.

Figment. Cannot stand him. While there are other Disney characters I care nothing for, the one I really actively dislike is Figment.

I've never had a good experience meeting Belle. Perhaps it's just my luck, but she's always been somewhat awkward to talk to. The other princesses have always been spot on and true to character, especially Ariel.

I was never that fond of Ariel. Just a fishy bimbo with no respect for her father and nearly ruined everything because of her stupidity.

Not a good example to set for little girls IMHO.

Never did like her. I always thought she was an idiot. Quite frankly, she would've been popped in the mouth if she was in my family.

Count me in for the Mickey hate.

He's got no personality of his own (a big 'ol ZERO), they just dress him up in different outfits and hope the audience picks up on it ("Oh, I get it, he's supposed to be a(n) __________! {fill in blank}).

He's bland, with a side of bland, in a bland sauce, with little crumbles of bland tossed on top. I'd rather deal someone with a one-note personality (looking at you, Donald) than someone with no personality whatsoever.

Now in the parks, I can't stand any of the characters. What an utter waste of time and effort (and yes, I spent some time in one of those costumes!). As my sig say, I can't understand the psychosis of actually waiting in line to see an actor in a fursuit (or out of one, in the case of face characters). Or being interrupted at a overpriced meal while the $1.50-worth of food you bought for $35 a plate gets cold.

Just. Don't. Get it.

But thankfully, there's so much more to do at Disney that I can enjoy otherwise.

Well, for me, Tink is OVERDONE....to death and back....don't dislike her, just tired of seeing her everywhere.

Add Jesse from Toy Story 2 & 3 to the list. Just see her as unnecessary. Not to mention the creepy smile on the costume at the parks.

I could do without some of the Country Bears walking around the park...they look AWFUL....and the same goes for Gideon and J. Worthington Foulfellow from Pinocchio. People just don't know who they are for the most part, so why have them in the parks?

And sorry for those of you who hate them, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chip n Dale, Donald Duck, and ALL the Villains!! Can't have a good Disney movie, without a good Disney villain... ;)

Jessee from Toy Story gives me the creeps. I don't know why, but I really don't like her.

You are not alone. I cannot stand Stitch. I find that thing annoying, useless and ugly. But that is just me. If somebody else loves him I say go for it. Somebody must he/it has been around for years.

I didn't read the whole thread, but here's mine.

The stepsisters and Lady Tramaine. Perhaps it got worse because I have been a stepmom and heard more than my fair share of evil stepmother jokes, but they have always annoyed me.

Stitch is the reason I won't reserve an Ohana breakfast. He annoys me and I think he'd scare my son, but the one my daughter met at Epcot was nice.

Scar was the worse kind of hater. How do you murder your own brother, set up your nephew to take the blame, put out a contract on said nephew, smack your brother's widow around, then when that nephew spares your life after finding out you killed his father and seeing you hit his mother, try to kill him again? Good grief. He puts a lot of other Disney Villians to shame.

Had no idea so many people hated Stitch! (The ride, yes, but the character?)

Maybe I like him so much because he reminds me of my bulldog...weird noises and all...if only my dog could talk!! :rotfl:

Seriously...what's not to love?

Seriously...you should be warned not to ask these kinds of questions! Don't get us started!!!

Tink is everywhere, but I'm just not that fond of her. When I'm looking for Disney clothing it seems she's on 50% of it, and everything else I look at. Is she a trend right now? Or have I not noticed it before? I'm a good old fashioned Mickey Mouse gal. The classic Disney characters appeal to me. Though I think Tink may be one... With the exception of Woody and Buzz I suppose. Is there anyone you're not fond of?

I still to this day cannot get a straight answer, but my daughter hates Tink.......:confused3

Winnie the Pooh and his friends....they are everywhere and there's far too much merchandise with them on it!

Stitch and Winnie the Poop -- I just don't feel the magic with either one.
