Am I the only one who does not like a particular Disney character?

For me it's all the characters that are in the park, cartoons I love them but dressed up in the park they are creepy and not at all like the movie. I will take my kids to meals with them and allow them to see the no line up ones but I wouldn't line up just to meet them unless the kids really wanted too, which last time we went they didn't but we did have alot of charactor meals. My dd was afraid of Bell in her yellow dress, though she did like stich at the ohana bf.

I never cared for Stitch. I also dislike Snow White.

I'm with you on Snow White. Her voice drives me nuts; so shrill. Also, not a huge fan of Tink, but her recent movies have made her much better. I don't like how those characters make you wait and wait when you go to meet them. They really get into character.

I was never that fond of Ariel. Just a fishy bimbo with no respect for her father and nearly ruined everything because of her stupidity.

Not a good example to set for little girls IMHO.

This may be true, but she sure looked great when I saw her at Akershus, and with those legs she sure didn't look very fishy to me. :rotfl:

I can't stand Goofy - there, I said it out loud.

That is Disney blasphemy. Goofy is the one character whom all others pale in comparison too. I'd vote Goofy into the White House... Oh wait, that has already been done many times over. :rotfl2:

The Incredibles, I absolutely cannot stand them. Dh and my kids love them!

I'm with you on this one. I truly fail to understand what makes the Incredibles Incredible. I Incredibly don't find them all that incredible. :lmao:

I've always gotten a creepy feeling about Disney's Pocahontas. It's one thing to take a fairy tale, myth, or fictional story and do your own interpretation, but Pocahontas was a real historical person and I'm not fond of how Disney has changed so much of her story.

There are probably other examples of Disney doing this but Pocahontas is the one that stands out to me, maybe because I've seen more exposure to her since the Disney Princess franchise and the Fantasmic segment.

I don't mind Tink, I really liked her in Peter Pan and because I didn't want that image of her ruined I haven't seen her other films.

This all being said... Peter Pan annoys me and I'm not sure why, lol I did meet him once and he asked me if I'd ever been to visit his statue in Kensington Gardens. He seemed so hopeful that I lied and said that I had :lmao: It brightened up his day I'm sure!

I don't like Bambi, Pinocchio & Jessie.

I can't stand Tinkerbell. She's all right in Peter Pan, but since then her character has been slowly deteriorating, and nowadays she's the EXACT opposite of the nasty, spoiled, jealous brat she started out as. It annoys me >.< And even though I'm a huge villain fan, no one gets on my nerves like Gaston! Also not a fan of Snow White, Mary Poppins, Donald Duck, or most of the heroes (the only ones I can stand are Prince Edward, Naveen, and Flynn Rider).

i do not care for chip in beauty and the beast (not the chipmunk)

I really don't understand the comments about not liking Lotso. He's an unrepentant villain (with a tragic backstory, yes, but still) -- you're not supposed to like him, at least not the one we saw in the movie. It really isn't something to feel guilty or in the minority about -- it's like thinking you're going against the tide by not liking the Emperor from Star Wars.

My little sister kinda ruined tinkerbell for me, though i love her in Peter Pan. I don't like mother gothel, she annoys me.

Not a big fan of Minnie. Honestly, I was fine with her until the year they were celebrating Mickey's Birthday Party and I heard her voice while on the monorail over and over and over and over saying, "Don't tell Mickey! It's a surprise." with the most annoying giggle afterward. That did it for me. Ever since then, I just get the willies when I hear Minnie's voice.

Ick. Tink. I feel that she is dressed inappropriately half the time and looks slutty.

The same thing can be said for Jasmine, Ariel, Jessica Rabbit and other characters. :earboy2:

Anyway, please don't beat me up, but I love all the characters that everyone else here has bashed.

However, there are a couple that I don't care for too much and wouldn't mind seeing fall victim to misfortunes:

One is Chi Fu, the Emperor's assisstant from "Mulan"--IMO, he came off as being a bit sexist towards Mulan.

Another would be Oscar Proud from "The Proud Family". I feel he came off as being too mean and dim-witted for his own good throughout the entire course of that series and thus deserved the majority of the abuse that he constantly got.

I completely disagree. Her newer movies take place before "Peter Pan", so she's younger. But she does still retain her "negative" qualities in those films, too (ie: literally turning red when angered, etc.). I don't think her personality has deteriorated at all.

Besides, she wasn't ALWAYS a complete meanie.

Regardless, it still doesn't matter. If people want to reinterpret a bit of history, it's okay. It's been done before and will probably be done again. Expect movies to be purely entertainment, not history lessons. Other film and cartoon studios have "mangled" the Pocahontas legend before anyway, yet all those past interpretations continue getting a free pass, which is absolutely annoying and discriminatory in its own right!

All this hatred is annoying and, overall, should not exist, IMO.

How can you be annoyed by a character that doesn't TALK?!'

I agree with the person you are replying to. Somehow Meeko just annoys me to no end! He just has an annoying aura I suppose. Another character that doesn't talk but I don't like is the girl squirrel that fawned all over Arthur in Disney's Sword and the Stone. Ugh! She just annoyed me immensley! What a stalker! I realize she (or any Sword in the Stone characters for that matter) doesn't appear in the park but I had to mention her anyhow.

I don't like human characters who have masked costumes like Lilo, Smee, Captain Hook, Gepetto...etc. Somehow, it just weirds me out... They're human! Why can't they have a face? But out of all the human masked characters, Lilo freaks me out the most. She's supposed to be this little girl but here she is towering over me. Creepish-maximus!

I also don't like any of the Pooh characters. Well, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga and Roo are okay but not the others.

I was quite shocked that a lot of you didn't like Tinkerbell. I thought I was the only one! I don't like that she replaced the Blue Fairy in the Electric Parade. Ugh...dude...no one ever remembers that she TRIED TO KILL WENDY!

Like quite a few other people on here, I dislike Tinker Bell. I never liked her in the Peter Pan film, and I hate that she's everywhere in WDW. I feel like quite a lot of people don't understand that, yes, she's magical and sprinkles pixie dust and is all cute and mischievous, but she's also a complete, um, female dog!
Though my hatred of her has become something of a joke in my family - my mother will hold up something she thinks I'd like and go "oh, wait, no, it's got Tinker Bell on it, never mind!"

Also, STITCH. Ugh. I've never seen the Lilo & Stitch, so perhaps I can't pass a fair judgement, but I don't like the way he's portrayed in the parks. He's just irritating.

I guess I never thought about it until I read this thread, but there are quite a few I don't like much...
Donald probably tops the list. I know he is supposed to provide comic relief but I just don't find him funny at all.

Agree with Donald--I don't know what he's saying half the time!!
