I notice that on the boards, it seems most people drive themselves or rent a car when in DW, but I absolutely LOVE taking the busses around. To me, it helps me be UBER lazy on my vacation! :cloud9:

I guess I just like the idea of being chauffered around. :confused3

I think the buses are great - they were always on time- No problems whatsoever!!

Personally I think it is all part of the magic.... I love the Disney Transportation..... I am with you :thumbsup2

I agree with you! Driving myself would cause way too much stress (at least for me). I just consider it part of the trip and don't get upset when I have to wait for a bus (OK, well, I did get upset that one time I waited 52 minutes at Epcot for the bus to WL...but that's another story).

I loved the busses too. But I am a person who allows a bit more time and doesn't leave at the last minute for ADRs. I'm sure a car would be more convenient cause you don't have to plan time as closely.

Anyway, we parked our car in the Poly lot where we stayed and never moved it for a week! In November we are flying in so will use ME! My husband loves to drive places ... I don't but he enjoyed the relaxed ride on monorail and bus.

The only bus that seemed to have a long wait time was DTD ... plus the trip there the bus driver must have had a bad day ... not very nice at all -- not horrible so I'm sure just somewhat tired! We are not really DTD kind of people so not something I probably would do again anyway.

Next October (2007), we are going to Universal/IOA so will move the car on that trip.

Otherwise ... it is the monorail or bus! :thumbsup2

We have stayed on WDW property 35 times and have always use the WDW transportation system only. I don't want to drive on my vacation.

we choose to never again take coaches. the freedom of coming and going as we please, plus not waiting in the line for the third coach before there is finally room for us and our stroller; makes the private vehicle option very palletable to us.

we do love the launches and the monorail.

I've rented a car on three of my trips, and it sat in the resort lot! One of the things that keeps me coming back to WDW is the total immersive experience - I truly can forget that there's an outside world with responsibilities and worries, including driving, and lose myself in the magic.

The buses are so much a part of the magic for me that I get teary-eyed when I occasionally cross the path of our local TCAT buses (they are the same type as WDW)!

No, you are not alone. I love the buses as well. It's nice to have a car just in case, and it would be ours, not a rental. If I can take the bus I will. I like being dropped off up front and not have to walk from the back of the parking lot.

I always go during the times of year when the crowds are low(er) and I love love LOVE the buses! I don't have that looooong walk out to a hot car, don't take any wrong turns, and who cares if I have to wait a few minutes? It is so convenient, and like the OP said I get to be lazy. Isn't that the point of vacation?

Yea lol, of course i like riding the disney transportation buses. The ony bad thing is the wait on some of the buses. If you rent a car, there are no worries about missin the next bus or what not. The Disney buses add to the magic effect!

We do a mix of the 2 depending on how late . Some days at SSR in June I drove to the busstop but we were just in a far building in between all the stops.

But I love the buses as well great way to meet your neighbors.

I think my son's favorite ride at WDW is the busses. That's all he talked about when we came home from our last trip in March 2005.

I love the ease of using Disney transportation, and I really love meeting people from all around. Last trip we met a really nice family that new some people that we knew in DE.

:cool1: Love the busses and boats !!!!!!!!!!! The only driving we do is to "other " parks or to shop off-site.

I'm with the first poster, Gary, and all the others that do not want to have to drive while on vacation... to me, that is part of being on vacation... no worry as to which turn is the one we want?... where do we park the car?... where DID we park the car??...

Let's not even mention the DD status the bus drivers have after a night drinking around the World... or at PI... :rolleyes1

The bus ride is a great time to look over the maps and get the "game plan" figured out... if that wasn't done at breakfast... :goodvibes

I like not having to drive on vacation. I admit that the resort to resort thing is a pain but I plan around that.
There is something great about walking to the stop and having the choice of all of those wonderful, magical places.
We stayed at POP last time and I must say that I liked the fact that there is only one bus stop. Hop on, and you're off to the park no stops!

I love the busses! Sometimes they do take a while to get you from one place to another, but its nice not to have to drive... or remember where the car is parked!

Since we drive down, we don't want to see that van again until it's time to get in it to go home! Plus, my dh drives a lot everyday in his job, so he doesn't want to do it on vacation. We love the buses!
