Am I the only one creeped out by "it's a small world'?

Like many previous posters, I thought of Kingdom Keepers right away. IASW doesn't creep me out. I have a sneaking fondness for it, actually. My mom LOVES it. I think she really does manage 20+ rides a trip, one way or another. ("Yes, of course I'll take the children while you ride on Splash Mountain!" she says... and then rides IASW over and over and over with the littlest ones of the group.) My dd looks for Kingdom Keeper references, my dh makes fun of the song (but not loudly enough to disturb other riders) and my ds looks for Perry the Platypus (he's there, disguised as an ordinary platypus).

Don't find it creepy, tis a bit annoying though. Exactly a year after going on the ride my DS4 will randomly start humming the song any time of day.

I'm in the camp of those who love IASW! *LOL*

But, when it debuted in 1964 at the New York World's Fair, audio-animatronics was new technology. And when it was moved to Disneyland, it was a huge draw for many years.

Wasn't there some creepy movie--in the 70s or 80s?--about dolls? Chuckie--or something like that? I remember seeing ads for it. That probably made the audio-animatronic dolls creepy to those who grew up with the movie(s).

My MIL *loves* this ride. She'd do it 20 times during our trip if she could. Frankly, it creeps me out...and it creeps out my teenage daughter.

I'm not sure what it is about this ride, but it just gives me the willies. I think it's the doll children that are dressed like adults. I'm really not sure, but it wigs me out.

Is it just me and my dd?

you mean the house of chucky dolls :lmao: they don't creep me out but I would like to do some target practice in there :rotfl2:

My Mom loves that ride. I find it creepy, creepy, creepy! Best part for me is that it is Rehab for our next visit!!!!

My oldest son read Kingdom Keepers a couple of years ago. He will not go on the ride anymore. I still love it!

I now want to read Kingdom Keepers, but at the same time....

I hate IASW. It seriously bothers me-from the music to the dolls lol

run them' dolls over!!!!!

I always thought they looked like Chucky dolls in drag...there (many, many years ago) was a really long, hillarious thread on here about IASW, talking about silly things like people disappearing at MK, and later being seen in miniature in IASW...or people telling their children that's what happened to them if they misbehaved at the MK. :rotfl2: Now I'll have to check out that book!!

PS. None of the above still keeps me from riding it every trip!! I'm so disappointed it will be in refurb while we are there in October!

I absolutely adore everything about this ride, it's perfection!!! I try to ride it as much as possible as does my mom. SO sad it's going to be closed while we're there next time.

If I were in a boat alone with no other boats around and possibly at night. Yeah totally creepy.

Normally, no I think it is cute. I HATE clowns too but, the ones on IASW don't bother me. Now don't get me started on that pool slide at BW. shudder.

I did read kingdom keepers too.
