Am I the only crazy person staying at WL?? Ugh

How many days are you going to be there? Maybe do AK, which you know you have to bus to no matter where you stay and HS the days you are there. Then hit MK and Epcot when you switch over to CR and can monorail it.

Thank you!!
We LOVVVVVVE the Wilderness Lodge, I've just never stayed there. Very VERY excited. We eat at Whispering Canyon night one, I'm excited to have some laughs and pig out on BBQ.

Any tips on how to get to and from Epcot and MK from WL? I know you can take the boat-
Thanks!

What's a magic bar? I will look for one!

It's bus to Epcot from WL. There is no boat to Epcot. The bus stops at FW on the way to Epcot and on the return WL is the first stop. That's the easiest. Anything going over to CR/Monorail etc, while an adventure in Disney transportation, is going to take longer.

MK is either bus or boat.

I've only heard positive things about staying there during this construction, especially about lower crowds and some nice views from lower-priced rooms. And it is a wonderful resort.

I love the boat from there to MK. I'm not a fan of the buses, and the idea of taking the boat to MK and then 2 monorails to get to Epcot doesn't make me happy either. I like Uber.

We're arriving on Sunday. Probably will do the monorail shuffle to Epcot on Monday morning because I want my son's first experience to be arriving on the monorail. I still remember how magical that was to me as a kid. We have FPs for stuff and won't be spending a lot of time at Epcot anyway.

I'm also looking forward to having a quieter resort and doing things like riding the boat to MK.

JUST us.... We are DVC owners, HOMED at the WL....

We went there in Nov 2015, April 2016.... BOOKED for Nov 2016 and April 2017 :). We have multiple sets of those WL "Construction" pins :).

Not ONCE has any of this bothered us :). In fact, we're crazy enough to ask for "construction view", if we can get it :).

Now - we are also 64, no very little children that might need a NAP. So - your mileage may vary, depending on needs :).

Yes! This is the view from our $200/night Standard room earlier this year

Magic bars are awesome seven layer cookie bars, with coconut and chocolate chips. Soooo yummy. The homemade potato chips from the QS are great too. I know you will have a great time.
I'm sure inside the lobby you won't hear a thing.
There is a hidden Mickey scavenger hunt throughout the lodge if you have time to kill. Ask the front desk for the paper list of clues. It's really fun. Enjoy!

Wow thanks for those two tips: Magic Bar and Hidden Mickey Hunt. Both sound ah-MAZING!

The WL is my favorite as well. We ususally take the boat to the The Contemporary and then the monorail. I do believe you switch monorails at the TTC, but the ride is nice

We're going in December! Construction isn't really a factor for us. We would only consider switching if we knew for sure/in advance that the gorgeous Christmas tree would not be going up. It looks like none of the internal construction would effect that though.
