I have put all tips and monies for my trip in envelopes. Like mousekeeping (don't start lol), tips for each of our TS ressies, our cabs to the airport and home from the airport and so on. I feel like I know we have the money for everything better. I know I am crazy

Nope, you are not the only anal one I do the same thing. I looked through the menus at allears.net and figured out how much tip we would need for each TS meal. I then made envelopes and put the tip money and the reservation confirmations I printed in the envelopes. I also printed mousekeeping envelopes from here http://www.thedibb.co.uk/mousekeeping-envelopes.php They have super cute envelopes!! I put the tips in those. I love to plan and organize so all this was fun for me Now I just need to start packing...not much longer

I am and I do the same thing. In fact, the ones for Mousekeeping I had my 4 yr old DD sit down and draw pictures and decorate the envelopes before we went.

I understand though - I am super organized and it just makes things less stressful for me when I have everything figured out beforehand too.

I do childcare in my home and whenever any of my parents pays me in cash, I put it in an envelope specifically marked "cash for Disney" ! On the envelope I have written down the amounts I am saving and what they are for. ie Mousekeeping $4/day x 7days = $28. ~20 tip for each ADR x 7 ADRs = $140 etc. Before we go on our trip I will take it all to the bank and have it converted into U.S dollars! Knowing the money is there and I don't have to worry about it saves me one less thing to stress about as our trip gets closer!

I don't quite do that, but as we save the money I know what money is needed for, it's written down.

I did buy a sort of lay-flat, divided, folder thing that closes with elastic, where I keep the trip info in stages. Very front has info on parking or if we're taking a shuttle, and the first flight info. Next is rental car or shuttle info (this is DLR trips), next hotel, etc etc. Somewhere in there I have the calendar of events, any meals we have planned, etc etc. So I just flip through and the trip is all in order.

Not that much different.


But back to envelopes...it's how we're doing our household budgeting now, from the Dave Ramsey system...really not all that different. Though some of my envelopes are on paper and the money is just in the bank account...

I did this on my 2006 trip. Then each day we had an envelope of money. This kept us on a budget. Plus anything left we put in a seperate envelope and the last day we used it for extra gifts to bring home. It worked great. The next trip I did it all in one envelope and kept track of how much we were allowed to spend....it didn't work as well.

We did for Mousekeeping for our last trip. I will do the same this trip. We printed them with different Disney pictures. The kids colored on them. Made it easy every AM when we left for the parks.
