Hello Everyone :goodvibes

Im making my very first visit to Universal Studios/IOA in roughly two and a half weeks . Im super excited! I've done Disney too many times to count and so im really looking forward to US/IOA !

Contrary to my screenname my buttery pants are a whole lot smaller and looser these days. A few months ago I weighed around 375 lbs and I wore a size 32 pants (womens). I didn't even realize I'd gotten that large until I went clothes shopping and couldn't fit anything in The Avenue! I was a complete sobbing mess !

I joined a gym on April 22nd and changed my eating habits drastically. I do grueling workouts for hours on end everyday . Today I weigh 320 lbs and I fit comfortably in a size 22 :cheer2:pixiedust::cheer2: . I was so excited over my weight loss I bought the ticket to US/IOA ..Now that im reading some articles online I'm really worried that I wasted my money and I'm still too large to enjoy the parks :sad1: It will make me so upset to not be able to fit HPFJ and some of the bigger coasters. I've never rode a big coaster before and I really wanted to overcome my fear and ride one.

Being as though I have a couple weeks left I plan on working out even more and i'm aiming to weigh around 310 pounds when I leave for our vacation . Am i still too large for US/IOA ? Im 6"1 320 pounds. Im very curvy and my stomach isnt a problem . My hips /thighs and butt is the largest parts of my body.

Im just really worried that I'll be spending the day walking around aimlessly because im too large to fit the main rides :sad1:

That is some fantastic weight loss! Wow.
:cheer2:

I'm guessing you've read through the thread on this page aout fitting into FJ. The take away from hat seems to be that it really depends, and that you shouldn't give up if you don't fit into the outside test seats. I wonder if you could get hold of Universal and ask if they have exact seat dimensions? They should, I would think... Sorry - that's all I've got.

Best of luck.

actually with the hulk and FJ and coasters like that a lot of the problems are in the chest area. like for me im a bigger guy 6'0 243 but also very well built i fit in all the seats but its pretty close... keep in my too some of the rides have modified seating for bigger people so if you cant fit in the normal seat the modified seat way work.

I was 6' 2" 310 in 2009and did not fit into any of the coasters. Now at 270 I expect to fit.

why don't they make the seats bigger I am 5 feet and 123 pounds I would like to go back to universal studios but might not fit but my family will only let me lose 3 more pounds at the most

I don't want to be a killjoy but I wear a 14/16 pant and I found FJ a but snug. I carry most of my weight in my hips and thighs not my stomach.

you will fit in the mod seating for sure, but like i said earlier for us guys its more about the shoulders and chest than anything.

Your weight is not an issue for any of the rides.

I appreciate everyone"s honesty. I really do. I'm just going to try to be optimistic and just hope for the grace of God that I can atleast fit in the modified seat on HPFJ. If I can do that ride and some of the minor than I"d still feel as if I"ve got my money worth. Being as large as I am I'm used to being turned away at rides. It doesn't make it any less embarassing but ya know how it goes. Eventhough I've lost weight and that's great I have to face the reality that I'm still huge . I've worked so hard though ..so so hard . I will probaly break down in tears when I don't fit . In the mean time ill work on losing inches instead of focusing on my weight. I'm starting the 30 day shred tonight and I have two weeks to make these workouts count so I'm just going on focus on losing as many inches as possible .

Thanx for the info. That is how I'm shaped as well. Small on top and bottom heavy. I love my body type I just need to lose the excess pounds and keep everything else lol

You are already a huge success. Give credit where credit is due! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Recently I read a post from someone that said the TM's can't click you in at HPFJ BUT will anyone else be riding with you? THEY can go for the click that matters! :goodvibes

I did the diet thing also to fit into FJ in March. I went from 335 down to 285 and missed getting on by one click! I was close on the outside test seat so try that first. You should still go through the que area for FJ if you can. Plane ride and seats at WDW were a lot more comfortable the last trip. I was 355 at one point and actually got stuck in the muppets 3d show seats one time. Look at the positives and enjoy the park either way. I'm a guy that also has a large upper body and gut. Good luck!! next trip I hope to be down to 230 lbs by next year....:thumbsup2

Unfortunately ill be going to US alone ...I. prefer to go alone as a single mom its a much needed break .I have pretty good strength in my arms though so hopefully I can do it myself. I'm not exactly worried about the clicks and the upper body I'm more worried about the bottom seat and being too wide. I'm going to check out the seat dimension measurements and do some measuring today.

TM's can still help click people in :) They just can't use excessive force in order to make it click.

This is true, Im 5'3" 230 pounds and a nice TM asked me if he could help me push the bar down one more time on FJ. He pushed, it clicked, and we were whisked away.

We went to IOA yesterday and rode HPFJ. My BIL wasn't able to ride. He's a pretty big guy 6'1" 340# 54" chest area. He was able to ride everything else with no problems though. Hope this helps!

Good luck on the diet. I've got a bit of a belly. In 2010 I was 275 about 54 chest. I fit (just barley) but the bars were tight. On Mummy I thought I busted my spleen with all of it's starts & stops. :) Every thrill ride, I needed a cast assist. I think the belly was the problem rather that the width or total weight. I think you'll be fine.

I've vowed this October'd trip will be different! Now to my grilled chicken lunch!

have fun
mauisam

6'1" here and weigh 260 but was unable to ride due to chest size.

Edited to add : That was for Harry Potter only. I was able to fit on all of the other rides, tho RRR was an extremely tight squeeze and it made the entire ride very uncomfortable (but glad that I did it at least once).

Wow youre WAY smaller than I am and you were unable to ride ..Im wondering why :confused3 Do you lift weight and is very buff? How did you not fit ? My chest is 49 inches ...the largest part of my stomach is 49 inches as well...But my behind is more like 56 inches...Im so worried about all this wagon im dragging :sad2: My butt is really big . Im more worried about not being able to squeeze into the seat moreso than the three clicks.
