Am I paying to much for air?

I live outside of Boston. I usually take Jetblue or Song or a combination of both. Both are Nonstop. I keep reading about people stopping in Atlanta etc. R the flights that much cheaper??

The most I've paid is $165.40 R/T. Am I just fooling myself into believing this is a good price? Would one stop make that much of a savings?

For instance I am flying out at 2:10 pm 5/25 Jetblue for $87.70 and back at 6:55 pm 5/31 Song for $77.70. Both Nonstop. Could I have dont better. I am asking because I am looking at an August and October trip for DS and myself. Then there will be a Feb or April vacation trip. As I fly this often I want to pay as little as possible. I could go ealier in the day out(after 7am those 4am wakeups would kill my DS6) but I really like leaving as late as possible.

So what say ye all????

Given that you're flying over the Memorial Day weekend, I would be happy with that flight. You might do a bit better, but not too much, and to me, not having to stop, at that price, is worth it's weight in gold.

Of course, I'm still trying to figure out how we are going to get home in February for under $299 for one way, at the end of vacation week. (just a little perspective ). I'd jump on it.

We're going in August, and for the 4 of us, it's $770 from Hartford. Direct flight down and back on Delta (Song). That price even beat Southwest!

I concur thatbyou have very good rates for your May trip. We have flown both Song and JetBlue and like both. With DS's wheelchair we pretty much have to do a non-stop.

Now Feb or April vacation is a completely different story. The $299 one-way that Debster speaks of is all you've got for non-stops. You can still get a one-stop flight for Feb for less than $250 round-trip, but there's that annoying stop-over to deal with (and we Bostonians are spoiled by the lovely non-stops); I expect many of these deals will dry up as the year wears on too, so jump on any good fares you see for Feb or April since the airlines are pretty much guaranteed to sell all their seats in this period, so are going to try to get as much as possible for them.

We have been planning our February 2006 escape from winter, and I managed to stay up until midnight to buy the tix for the flight down, and actually managed to snag the four $83 seats on a Song non-stop at our preferred time. Unfortunately, work got busy that week and I forgot to try for the return flights a week later (tho I hear there were no cheap seats at all on those). So it looks like we'll be paying full-freight for the return flight (sigh). Bt at least one of our flights will be free, since DS won a free round-trip on Song on our flight to Orlando two weeks ago; to celebrate Song's 2nd birthday, they put all the boarding passes into a bag and drew out my son's, so he won the free ticket (Yay!). Let's see if I can redeem it for February.

Pumpkinboy--I may be slightly delusional, but I seem to remember that the Song flights last year came out of the gate at about $125 for a one way, skyrocketed to $300+, and then in a couple of months, they started creeping back down. (timing somewhat coincided with JetBlue and SWA releasing fares). So we might have one last shot at something a bit more palatable. Esp since according to the seating plans on flysong.com, the only seats that are booked, are the ones that were blocked out when they released the flights.

To the OP--sorry to hijack your thread. But I will reiterated, I think your flight for May is a good price, I'd go for it.

I live in MA, too and if I can get under $200 for non-stop, I am happy. I have paid as little as $140 or so and as much as $280.

I just booked for my Nov/Dec trip and had to go with $220 on Song out of Logan. It's about what I used to pay, then got used to those nice under $200 fares but I don't want to wait and see. It's just not worth it to me in order to save $50..especially if it's just me flying. But I can't imagine that we'll see a lot of those super low fares now with the price of gas/oil!!

I got $174 for the weekend after Thanksgiving. I was happy with that, really and it's non-stop.
For my last trip, it was spring break week here in Boston and I couldn't get lower than $305 and I had to make connections (if anyone remembers my thread about being stuck in Atlanta.)

I'm from MA too. Flying out of Hartford, non-stop Song on June 17th for 165.00. I think you have a good price too.
