I am always double checking everything I do or that is done for me, that's just the way I am and I can't help it:guilty:

My question is am I over the top if with a week to go,and our restaurant ADRs in front of me, if I go ahead and call the reservation line with my confirmation numbers and confirm them myself?

My entire package was put together by a TA, an it has nothing to do with this person being competent, just more like me being the way I am.

No. I made my reservation myself and still called last night to confirm our next Wed's reservation at LeCellier's. That way I know I have the right confirm number to take with me. Just go ahead and call!

I don't think you're being paranoid at all. There was a thread a few days ago where their reservations were made for the right days, but the wrong month! They got to Disney and they'd missed all of their ADR's, because they were for the month before.

Not that this is the norm at all, but I do understand your desire to independently confirm.

Yeah that was me and it sucked! CALL AND CONFIRM and do not feel the least built paranoid about it.

We are finding that if you do not inspect and double check people these days ...even simple things ...we are finding mistakes or errors. It pays to check. On the job training is how many organizations are training people, so remember every time you call you are having them open your trip records. Your record details could be overwritten if your records are not closed upon the conclusion of your call. Disney does not send change confirmations-alerts either. Written confirmations are best...hopefully their on-line system will provide this feature for guest.

Not at all! I made my own ADR at the 180 day mark and I have called every month just tp double check, I have two more months before we leave. I am paranoid of a computer gliche and ADR being erased!

I read on the Dis to double check ADR's and I thought it would be a little OCD for me to do it, but since my hotel reservations have been wrong already (found out after looking on my trip info on the Disney website) and I had to fix them, I went ahead and called. The CM who answered told me that was fine and was very helpful. It took a couple of minutes and I was happy I did because I had one of the ADR numbers wrong. It seems like you get a lot more respect from any customer service people if you know what you are talking about and are trying to avoid problems ahead of time. I guess not many people do these days.

I just did this yesterday - and am glad I did. Turns out the Chef Mickey's breakfast I had a ressie for - wasn't for Chef Mickey's - they had given me a ressie for Cape May breakfast instead? How the heck did that happen?
So now am hoping something opens up for Chef Mickey's, as have never been and we really want to try it for breakfast. All my other ressies were okay, though.

I always call to confirm them and now that you mentioned it I will do it again today. Maybe the reson why I do it is I have hcnage plans so many times but I (think) have it right now hahhahah Its just a hard think to prepare dinners a few months in advance then have the little worry that you wont have any good places to eat other then counter services :rotfl:

I have NEVER called to confirm. I figure I had my confirmation numbers and I haven't changed anything so I just go with the flow. I can always find a meal somewhere if my ADR is "lost". Far from the end of the world.
