PLANNING TO GO TO WL JUNE 5-10 FOR MY 2 YEAR OL DS FIRST VISIT,IS THIS CRAZY? I USUALLY GO IN THE FALL,SIO I REALLY DO KNOW. :earsgirl: THANKS

Not nearly as crazy as me......I always go in July!!!

Welcome to the DIS!

If you're going to go in June, early June is less crowded than late June. But if you've only been in the fall, it will be much busier than you've seen.

Enjoy!

Bob

We went in January and then June of this year. We were there the 1st week in June and my kids made me promise we would never, ever go back in June again. It was hot and crowded. It may have been more crowded when we were there due to the 50th.

We usually go to WDW in the Fall, but this year we went in the second of June because my son started 1st grade and we need to stick to the school schedule. It was a lot more crowded than September or October, but with the use of fast passes, I think the longest we waited in line was 15 or 20 minutes and got to ride everything we wanted. As your child is 2, you will probably be doing a lot of Fantasyland rides which have notoriously slow-moving lines and few fast pass options. You may want to try the line swap technique. The Unofficial Guide explains this and how many people to let ahead of you before getting back into line and on which rides this will work.

We will be going again next year during the second week of June when school lets out. I expect we will have a great time like we did this year! BTW, I think that Gay Week is the 1st week of June and Star Wars weekends at MGM should be going when you are there.

No, you're not crazy! We've gone 2X in June and this last year we went in July. We would definetly go again in June. It's hot and crowded but it's also nice cause everything is open late and all the activities/shows/parades happen like everyday so I do like that.

Us too! Actually we love July. The first time we went ds was only 2 and he had a wonderful time.

They extended Star Wars weekend @ MGM this year an additional week.

We went the 3rd week in June & had a wonderful time, despite torrential rain everyday we were in the parks. We heard one day had almost 10 inches of rain (actually shredded our dollar store ponchos, had to spring for the Mickey ones).

However, the rain did:

*keep the attendance down (probably mostly the locals); and

*kept the temperature in the low 80's (the day we left it quit raining, was humid & in the 90's).

We're going back the same time next year. Good luck.

We went this year first week of June. It was really crowded and very hot and humid. Almost every ride had a wait time of at least 30 minutes if not 45 minutes! It was really hard to stay in line and wait in that heat! We will be going in February or April when our kids are out on break. I am prepared for the crowds but am hoping it won't be as nearly as hot as our trip in June. Hope this helps............

Oh my, I guess we've never been in June before but we're going there on June 10th, that's my break between the spring and summer quarters. Oh well, we do want to take it easy and enjoy the resort, I guess the pool will be mobbed. We're staying at VWL.

We went June 19-26, and it didn't seem any worse than when we usually go (August). Plus, the parks were open late, and there wasn't anything major being refurbished. I just don't remember it being more crowded in June. Maybe I was just so happy to be there that I didn't notice!

I LOVE JUNE IN DISNEY!!!!! :rotfl:
all the parks are open late,i love the hustle and bustle of it all, everyone in great spirits.I can see the advantages of going off season but i think i would miss sharing that giddy feeling with so many people.

Nothing can be as bad as going in August. We went in August to take advantage of free dining. Boy, was it hot! Fun though.... But walking around the park in the middle of the day was torture! We actually looked forward to the mid afternoon thunderstorms.

We were there for the first time in June from the 7th to the 16th so your weeks should be even better then ours. The longest we waited in any line was 10 minutes and as a matter of fact we were back in our room just after 1:00 from MK having ridden all the most popular rides leaving Tiki, Country Bear, Presidents and other similar rides to do after our naps. We always have toured in Septembe and October so I was a bit scared about this trip. Signed up with Tour Guide Mike and learned how to work the parks so that we never waited more then 10 minutes and on most we just walked on. Thank goodness I subscribed to him or I too would have been waiting in those lines for 45 minutes and would have not been able to nap back at our resort from 1:00 to 4:30!

Go and enjoy.

Ya know, my family has been to WDW every one of the summer months and we've loved it every time. As long as you're in Disney sometimes even the crowds are bearable!! :)

With two kids in school, we too need to go when they are on vacation (I know some people do take their kids out of school. we tried it once, but it really didn't work out to well). We have gone during different periods in the summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Early June was the best.

During early June some parts of the country were still in school. It's not quite as hot as July-August, but plenty hot for swimming, getting wet (which is a must for our kids). The crowds are there, but they are manageable.

The absolute worst I have seen was Christmas Day 2003. Talk about wall-to-wall people. I will never go Christmas week again. Thanksgiving was much better then Christmas (at least right up to Thanksgiving Day), plus it is warmer than at Christmas.

I don't think you are crazy. We have always went during fall/winter months but this year we went in June for the first time and we enjoyed it! Ofcourse we're from Texas so we're used to heat- we only had to adjust a bit to the extra humidity and not very much wind.. never thought I'd be wishing for lots of wind like we get here, but I was.
I'd just make adjustments for the crowds (but we didn't find it to be too bad except when it came to leaving the parks by bus) and for the weather (hot, humid, and some showers almost every day... sometimes the rain only lasting a few minutes, sometimes hours, only once was it almost all day). If you make the adjustments necessary and plan ahead for those things- you can have a fabulous trip even in June! And we went LATE june.. early june should be even better?

We went in June last year and didn't think the crowds were that bad. It was hot, though.

The crowds will start to grow towards the end of your vacation. Also, please be prepared for the humidity.
