Am I nuts?! RE: Upgrading to DxDP

I did the DXDDP once.

Every day was 1 TS lunch around 12ish...followed by a signature dinner at 7.

At the end of the week......we spent way too much time in restaurants....and ate way too much food.
And I LOVE TO EAT!!!!!!

I think that people have made a lot of good points. One reason we're doing it again on our next trip (we've done it once before, just my husband and I, and we ate in a lot of signatures, which makes it a no- brainer, IMO) with our three year old son is that we want to do a lot of character meals, all of which are table service. We're also going to California Grill one night. Plus, my son will want some kind of "real" breakfast even when we don't have a character meal planned. When I looked at what we'd end up paying OOP if we did the regular plan, I was only looking at about a ninety dollar difference. When you factor in what I would probably spend on additional snacks and drinks, I think we'll come out about even and get to eat where we want.

We also really like the convenience of having everything paid up front. If we did the regular plan and had to pay for a lot of things OOP, that would kind of defeat the purpose for us.

I also have to say that we are not park commandoes and don't mind spending time in restaurants.

So, do the math and look at what you'd pay for OOP with the regular plan and if you think its worth; go for it! :thumbsup2

My family did the Deluxe dining on our last trip and we will be doing it again in December. Why? because we like the luxury of being able to order what we want without worrying about what it costs. We like the experience our kids had with the characters, the atmosphere, the breaks from the park. Our 5 year old could only do so much before she needed to just decompress and having a nice ADR schedule allowed her to maintain an even temperment. Those were the pluses for our family. It was alot of food yes but I only ate until I was full and skipped dessert even though it came with. It was not about getting my money's worth it was about the experience.
