i have always purchased disney packages through the disney website. i am looking at dolphin for november and there is a major difference in prices. disney website quoted me a price of $2470 which included standard room for 5 nights and 6 day parkhopper for 2 people. i went on starwood website and got standard room for same dates for $1300 (roughly) and the park tickets for 2 people is $628.00. thats a difference of over $500 which is huge. am i missing something else? i cant do the dining plan and dont use magical express?:confused3

Make sure that the Starwood quote is for park hoppers. Also, unless you're careful, the Disney site tends to add on the water park option. Also, no room charging from the park at swan/Dolphin and they tack on a daily resort fee (like $15).

thanks for reply; the starwood quote was just for rooms and i was careful when getting price for tickets...it was just for parkhopper option. even with the resort fee which i would pay anyway for internet room access its a big savings. i think.

Taxes at the Swan/Dolphin are 12.5%.
There is a Resort Service fee which can not be quoted nor pre-paid, that its $14+ tax (or $14.91). Parking is $15/day plus tax for self-parking.
No Magical Express and you will need extra charge transportation.

When you book Swolphin through Disney, you are booking a Magic Your Way package. It is not the same as booking a room-only reservation with separate tickets.

Its best to book Swolphin through Starwood. Buy your tix separately. There is no benefit to a MYW package when you book the Swolphin.

Although dolphin is on Disney property it is not owned by disney. That's why you can't have dining plan. That's probably true for MAgical express too. That's why when you look at what restaurant are on the dining plan dolphin and swan restaurants aren't on there.

No ME, $15 night resort fee that includes internet and water bottles. IMHO, they are fabulous rooms in an unbeatable location. I find the beds much more comfortable. The restaurants are fabulous as well. If you have AAA, they sometimes have free daily breakfast so check it out.

They do still have transportation to the parks. When we went, they shared with BWV and BC.

Just wanted to let you know all resorts have free wifi now.. Dolphin and swan you pay 15 dollar resort fee with no ME
