In making my reservation I found more times available for tables of four than tables of three. Wouldn't you normally sit a party of three or four at the same type of table whether it be a table or booth. I just don't understand why more time options would be open for a table of four than a table of three. If someone could shed some light on this maybe it would help me understand why more options would be open for a table of four than a table of three. Thanks!

It's only partially based on table size. Now I can't specifically say this happens at Disney because they don't publish their business rules, but, in many restaurants only a small percentage of tables for four will be allotted for parties of 3. The reason, if only 3 people are at the table its like giving up 25% of the sales of food/drink for that table, especially if the restaurant typically can fill those tables. I'm sure Disney has no problem and there's likely considerable demand for fours.

So, under those conditions, for any seating time the restaurant limits the number of 3s. In the restaurant in my hotel there is a moving flexible percentage based on how heavily booked it is.
