Am I missing something?

Does the Universal Studios Hollywood only have a couple of rides and shows? If so, it doesn't seem to compare to US Orlando.

Universal Orlando is two parks, Hollywood is one. Comparing the two studio parks I tend to prefer Hollywood. They are roughly the same overall but the studio tram tour at Hollywood is way superior to Orlando. Hollywood tram tour takes you through fully working outdoor studios that date back decades up through modern sets. If you like the Orlando studio park then you'll love Hollywood. If you're comparing with Islands of Adventure then you'll be disappointed as it doesn't exist in Hollywood.

Check out their website as it lists all the shows and attractions.

The studio tour is more a view of a real studio - but yes, not many rides. Easy to do the whole thing in less than a day during non-peak times. More shows than rides, and some of those are getting long-in-the-tooth ( waterworld? really?)

Waterworld has been the most popular show they've ever had. Almost every show is packed. But I agree its time to create something new. Prior to Waterworld it was Miami Vice which was short lived and unpopular.

They've updated the special effects sound stage show but I have not seen it since the update.

Backdraft is rather old but still a very impressive show.

Mummy ride is excellent but I miss the old E.T. ride even though it was getting old.

The fairly new Simpsons ride was a long over due replacement for Back to the Future ride.

Jurassic Park was better before they raised the track to prevent a large wave that soaked people standing on the walkway near the end. Still its a fun ride.

What rides does Universal Orlando have (studio park, not Islands) that Hollywood does not? Shows? For me, the tram tour at Hollywood is the highlight and very popular.

It kind of depends on your point of view.

WaterWorld is a spectacular stunt show. Sure, it's based on a 15 year old movie, but it stands alone as a great stunt show. I mean, Fantasmic is 19 years old and rarely considered long in the tooth. There's a ride in Fantasyland based on 74 year old movie.

ET is still in Florida - I wish it was still in Hollywood. even though the film is 29 years old. To me, a good show is a good show and a good ride is a good ride.

Yes but those are classics - Waterworld is....less than a classic :lmao:
If Universal had the type of fans Disney does taking away the ET & Back to the Future rides would have been interesting to watch.

My sister went there in the summer of 2008, great place to visit. It left a deep impression on her. If I had the opportunity, I would definitly go there on holidays, or even skip the class to go.

Just came back from Universal Orlando, Hollywood is way better if you ask me.It`s actually about the movies, there wasn`t even a studio tour there. All the good rides there are in California anyway. For a family of four we paid almost 500.00 dollars for one days admission.A few good rides and alot of stores.Probally wouldnt go back.
