Am I Missing Something Here - May

Hello,

AM I missing something here - Why are all the hotels/motels in the DL area
booked for May 16- May 19th 2008 I mean everything I have checked has no avail for this time frame even the DLR inside the park are full....hmmm what is a girl to do ....IS THIS HIGH SEASON
*** Keep in mind *** I have only ever been to WDW so this will be my first time to DL...

Also will it take me all day to do one full park????

It is a weekend...one week from now....I'm not surprised it is full. The hotels book up pretty early on. There might be a convention or something too...It seems like lately every weekend is "High Season" for DL. Plus the following weekend is a long one so I figure a few people are trying to avoid the crowds by going before.

It will take you more than one day to do a park if you haven't been before. DCA can probably be done in one, but DL will take you two or three, especially if it is crowded...

We're going this exact same weekend and I just booked our hotel about 2 weeks ago. A lot of places were available, but again that was 2 weeks ago..

I have looking at hotels from the Jolly Roger right to Paradise Pier
I have never been to DL or California and I am coming from Canada so it hard for me to pick as I have nothing to go on...I am such a disney lover and I have been to WDW several times, i thought it only fair to finally get to DL !!!

I am trying to to take my parents as a surprise, they don't know yet LOL

Well, that's less than 2 weeks away! I just did a quick expedia search, and there is some availability. Check out the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. I've stayed there before and it is OK.

Don't give up, check everyday! I wasn't finding anything for last weekend but then on Thursday I found us a room at the Candy Cane Inn, we loved it!! It's now our second fave off site hotel, second only to the HoJo!

I checked the fairfield inn which is about a 5 min walk from disneyland, and i have stayed there before and it is so wonderful. its at 169/night though hehe
better than nothing!

Yep, it's gonna be like that when you wait till the last minute. Last year I was booking a room a month in advance and seemed to have slim pickings!

I checked Anaheim Plaza also, it's open. Running about $95.

I also heard something about people trying to get their 2fer tickets used before a deadline. I booked a month ago and the only thing I could find was the Grand Californian. Good luck!

hopefully I will find a hotel ....I work for an airline so you almost have to book last minute to fly standby hehehehe
oh well I am sure it will be all worth it
