Four trips in one year?!?

Let's see... we went Oct 03, then May of 04. Now we are going in Dec 04, then May 04, June 04, and back in Oct 04. Oh my goodness!

My DH was in shock when I mentioned this to him! He didn't know about the May trip, but we can't miss it. Here's why - I'm going to Orlando for a perfusion conference - which my work will give me $1000 to attend. We will have our PAP's at that point, so that's paid for, and my $1000 will pay for my airfare, conference fees, and rental car. I even have the option of staying at my DVC resort or the conference hotel! PLUS - becasue it's a business meeting, I can write my meals off on my taxes! Can you think of why I shouldn't go? I can't!

No, I don't think you're nuts! My bf and I got PAP's in May and we are going back in December now. The other day my bf said "We have to go back in May again to get the most out of our PAPs!". So that will be 3 trips in a 12 month period. I trained him right! -Stephanie

All of you are from the midAtlantic. How do you get down there? Do you fly? Where do you stay? How can you afford so many trips & how do you get so much time off?????

Sounds great, because I am doing the same thing! I went in March04, August04, October04(On Wendesday!!), and then in January 05.

As for me personally, I fly. I usually am able to get excellent rates out of JFK/LGA (the NYC airports) for as low as $115 R/T on major airlines (Song, American, etc). When I see a rate that good it's hard to resist going!

You lucky thing! The most trips I've had in one year is 5 and I didn't have any conferences to attend I to pay my own way.

Sounds good to me! I went in Feb with my 4yo and met my sister. We all bought APs at that time. I then managed to stay away until a couple weeks ago, when my DH and I went to WDW. I will bring my 4yo back in early December where I will meet my sister and my mother for my mom's first trip to WDW. The end of January I'm bringing my 11yo son.

My strategy is to take trips with various family members. The funny thing is that my DH has never minded his because he's not the theme park nut that I am, but after having such a good time on our last trip he is now a bit jealous of me and my upcoming trips. I'm hoping that this means that he will want to go back with the whole family in the not so distant future.

I do think that I could talk him into a trip to Disneyland next summer.

Right there with you...seven trips in 03.....four in 04 and four scheduled for 05....it's just hubby and I, and we love WDW--especially our Beach Club Villas and annual passes!

Next trip in just five days...nine glorious nights at Beach Club Villas and the Food and Wine Festival!

DVC and AP's are making this possible. The conference also helps and I am lucky enough to get 5 weeks vacation from work.

Wow! Some of you sure go alot, but I think that is GREAT!!! This next year, we will be going 4 times in one year and that is all due to the AP's. I'm so excited about it!

After that, no more trips for a really long time.

I am not that bad YET.........Usually go at least once every 10 months- buy the AP so we save on park admission every other year.

This year is the first year we are going back so soon- went in Aug, now going back OCT!!!

I see an addictive trend coming!

No, you're not insane at all. Just since Dec 03 we've been there four times already this year. We were there Dec 03/Jan 04, May/June 04, July/Aug 04, Oct 04, and will be there again Dec 04. I'll be going alone for the marathon Jan 05. It's only a 12 hour drive, and with books on tape, I actually look forward to the drive. And DVC helps, as well. Also, AP rates are a big plus when it comes on saving those Friday and Saturday night DVC points. Plus, when you've worked for the same company for 23+ years, you accrue a lot of vacation and personal time.

TDC Nala - I LOVE THAT PICTURE! Did you take it? Could I possibly use that picture on my home PC? My DH is now a total Adv Club nut! He was part of the act for Samantha Sterling and has his official pin, he also got his Monkey Nut signed by the whole cast!!!
