Am I Going to Like ASMu Family Suites?

I know it's like comparing apples to oranges, however, I don't know if I'll be able to get the DVC resort that I'd like so I started considering AS Family Suites. There are 5 people, 4 adults/1 child, in my party. This is a quick pre-cruise stay and we aren't visiting the parks. I was leaning DVC b/c of the extra amenities, but with our time hitting around a holiday I don't know how feasible that it will be. We're hitting HDD so essentially we only have 1/2 day or a little better by the time we actually wake up (very late night flight in). So, how is ASMu? I've not stayed at a value before. How are these suites? I've seen photos, but are the rooms kind of quiet or are they in a noisy location? Any activity suggestions besides the pool?

So, how is ASMu?

Well, since it's my families preferred resort, I'd say it's pretty darned good!
Honestly, it is a great place to say. I have never used it as a stop-over the way you are, so I can't comment on that, but we have a great time there.

How are these suites?

We have not used a suite, but all the rooms have just been renovated and are beautiful! I did peek into a suite as a housekeeper was cleaning it, and they look very nice. The one I saw was on the first floor of Calypso, facing the pool (same area as our room). The noise was not a factor except during the afternoon when they were playing pool games. Then you could hear just a little "whump whump" of the bass from the music, but we just turned our fan on and it went away.

Any activity suggestions besides the pool?

They have an arcade, bar and gift shop. Also, it's just fun to walk around and look at the icons at that resort, plus the ones at Movies and Sports, depending on your preference. Where else can you get a photo op with 3 story tall Cowboy boots? Or a pic next to Herbie the Love Bug?

Have you thought about the cabins at FW? They fit 6, and then you will be right there for HDD since it is just a stopover stay. And your car is right there too, just get up and go!

Unfortunately, the FW cabin won't work. DH is rather tall so a double bed is out of the question. He even agreed to camp until I checked on the bedding type. FW was actually my first choice. I LOVED my stay there!
