None would even come close to passing the fingertip test![]()

There are some things that are just plain wrong. And this is one of those times. Am I judging by saying that? Of course. But we are all making a judgement when we comment on this video.
No, there is no one standing up for these girls. These are children. They are dressed inappropriately, they are dancing inappropriately. But it's beyond inappropriate. It's heartbreaking to watch and it's outrageous that these girls have been placed in this position. Unbelievable that no one stopped, thought, and said, "No, this is not ok for 7 year olds to do."
What makes you so sure you're right? I ask because, as I've said in my original post, what's accepted as ethical changes every generation. If KickA** was made in the 60s, all copies of it would have been burned because of the Hit Girl character. Look at what's allowed on TV these days, compared to what wasn't allowed decades ago.
One thing that adults need to do is protect their children. I know that these girls have no awareness of the sexual nature of their dancing. It was up to adults to make a good call on allowing their daughters to be put in this dance. Their parents failed them.

What is the point of dressing up 7 y/o girls like that and having them perform that particular dance? What is it's goal/intention? The coaches must be trying to be something or to do something with the choices of appearance and music/moves. What is it?
OMG, I can't even do a "come hither" look like that! The fishnets, the stockings, the lacy chokers...how is it ever appropriate for a child to dress like that? Those parents are sick to let their daughters be exploited like that.
{coming out of lurking because I can't resist}Evil because of a scene where Sam the Eagle was checking out some girl who was dancing provocatively. Everything is considered evil to some.
Many pages back, somebody posted some clips from that same competition and there was another group with outfits that low/high cut. But it wasn't nearly as bad.
A lot of dance costumes are revealing. I'm fairly prudish (I'll willingly admit) and would never wear some of my costumes outside if a competition. When we did Cotton Eyed Joe, we had midriffs and cut off shorts that did not cover much more than a bathing suit. But the difference between costumes like that or one of the other groups posted and the costumes the little girls in the video wore is the overall design. Our costumes were meant to look like little farmer's outfits. Some of hte costumes posted here are leotads with the middle missing. These girls were dressed in lingerie that I wouldn't wear in the privacy of my own bedroom! It's the overall look, including the part bolded above that puts it over the top.
Dance costumes are designed to show case a dancer's body. You don't want to hide behind layers of fabrics (heck, many studios severely limit even the tyupe of dance pants you wear to class) because it hides the movement. But there's a difference between revealing and sexual.

A lot of things parents try to do is protect their children from perceived threats. My mom was overbearing when I was a kid in regards to everything and I still hold a grudge against her for being out of touch when everybody around me had way more freedom. And no, I said I hold a grudge against her, so looking back on it as an adult, I do not see what she did was healthy for me in the least.
