:earboy2: OUr first cruise is coming up in a couple of months. We are cruising August 11 on the Wonder. I know this is hurricane season, have we made a mistake in making our reservations for this time? It just kinda scared me because I haven't found many sailing with us :earsboy: Just didn't know if we would be the only ones on the ship :wave2: Who all has cruised in August and would you do it again?

Both ships are usually full in the Summer months but apparently there aren't a lot of folks on your cruise that frequent the boards. Last year was a busier than average year for hurricanes. In the history of DCL, last year was the first time a cruise was extended and/or cancelled by the weather. The major issue you would have with a hurricane is that the ports might change so on the Wonder you might miss either Nassau or Castaway Cay or both.

I would plan to have a fantastic time but get trip insurance and keep a flexible mind. One advantage this summer is that DCL will only have to worry about the Wonder being impacted by an Atlantic hurricane until the Magic returns from the West Coast.

No matter WHEN you cruise there is always something that can impact your trip. Depending on the time of year, it can be too chilly at Castaway Cay, sometimes it rains, sometimes the winds are too strong for a safe docking, etc.

You can be sure that the Captain will do everything he can to be sure you have a safe and enjoyable cruise.

My sister and I are booked for late September, and we are just calling it the mystery cruise! Whatever happens, happens, and we are planning to enjoy every port we visit - planned or otherwise......

Whoooohoooo! I can't wait

What a fantastic attitude. When you start with the right frame of mind, then you will definitely have a great time.

We also cruise with the attitude that whatever happens is fine with us (as long as everyone is safe!). We've been lucky so far, and nothing unusual has happened on any of our cruises. However, if on some cruise we miss CC for whatever reason, or end up at some port other than one that we're scheduled for, we will regard it as an unplanned adventure and enjoy it! At least we're on vacation!
