Thanks for all the advice. I did wind up doing the run that was father away. It was a good little run. The environment was good, and I just missed my goal time by about 30 seconds. It was still a PR so I guess I can't get too upset. Didn't get to take the family and do the zoo, but that would have been great.

I found out Thurs afternoon DS had a bday party to attend on Saturday. We were concerned that he might not make it back in time if he did the race and so he skipped it. It was kind of a bummer because he really wants get some more medals. He got his first one for a mini-tri at our ymca and he is very excited to do more.

I don't think you were crazy at all to do this. I drive two hours each way to get to IKEA (that's a whole other addiction) and I've driven eight hours to go dancing. I'm a freak and actually enjoy driving, so I think it sounds like a fun day.
