I need some advise from BWV owners &/or anyone who has sold there DVC ownership & well, really ANYONE who wants to give me ANY advise, except on baseball, cause I probably won't agree, 'cause you're probably a Yankee fan, not that there's anything wrong with that.
I bet that was the longest sentence you've ever read.
No, I'm not a disgruntled DVC member, I'm just not happy I didn't go with my instinct.
Here's my present situation. I'm obsessed with BWV. I LOVE
that resort. I could stay at that resort every trip for the rest of my life- I'm only 21 so that's saying a lot
. So what's the issue? I don't own at BWV. Can you believe it? I know, I can't either.
Well, when I was making my decision to buy, I was back & forth between a resale with BWV or SSR thru Disney. I don't own a home (no home equity) so I really needed Disney's financing options, so I really felt I had no choice. Add on top of that, that my guide "pressured" me into SSR & well, I'm the girl who still needs my father with me to buy a car, 'cause I'll end up coming home with a Hummer when I wanted a civic.
Anyway, another reason was the extra years I'd get with SSR, once again I'm only 21 so those were important to me. My guide really pushed that I would have no problem staying at whatever resort I want, even if it wasn't my home resort. What a joke.
So here's my idea.
I want to sell my SSR contract to buy that exact contract only in BWV. Since buying into SSR I also added on 200 points with AKV. So I have 200 points with AKV until I'm 71. If I were to sell my SSR contract & buy into BWV I would loose some points at the age of 56, but have 200 points from the age 56 to 71. IMO, I don't think I would need more than 200 points at that age.
Now for the questions:
1. Do you think I'm crazy? Don't answer that. Do you think this is a good or bad idea?
2. What's it like selling your contract? (I'll take ALL the info you can give me)
3. Who would you suggest as a resale company?
4. Do you see any downsides to my idea that I may not be thinking of?
5. Anyone know the going rate for a BWV add-on with Disney?
I'll take any input I can get, this is a HUGE discussion & I want to be sure it's the right one.
Thanks so much guys! I feel like I'm always asking for advise here.
It's like the DIS is like the world's smartest mom & she just happens to be my mom.

Those 200 points you'll have left aren't going to go too far on your retirement time in WDW. I have 200 points myself right now and plan to use them at OKW because the nightly points are so cheap. I'll be able to get a studio for 19 nights in a row...almost 3 weeks every year. I will someday add on more points so that I get at least a month in WDW every year when I retire...if I don't end up buying a house there.
