I posted on the rent/trade board, but just want to know if this is something that EVERYONE is trying to get....

I was going to rent points from a friend to go to WDW in Oct...i want to do MNSSHP and alos have easy access to F&W Fest. well, there are no studios at BWV, BCV and for the week we want to go, nothing available at VWL, either! Actually, I would be able to go at any time in Oct...we want 2 or 3 nights at a DVC property, then Fri and Sat at a resort that we will pay cash for. But I really want BW/BC. Are there any tips or suggestions, or should I just make alternate plans?

Thanks!

Make alternate plans.

There is always hope - and if you owned the points it might be worth while waitlisting. But tying up your friends points for a waitlist is probably not a great idea.

I agree. Make alternate plans.

The only thing I can think of is a big long shot. Have your friend call at 35 days out. If anyone has to cancel because of sudden illness or change in plans, they will have to cancel more than 30 days out or mess up their points big time. There might be a sudden opening. It is a big long shot, though.

Everyone wants to be close to Epcot during Food & Wine. We made our ressies at 11 months out to be sure. Last year we had friends that wanted to come along and get their own 1 bedroom. That was at the 6 month point and all I could find for them was OKW. I've even read on other Boards of folks upset because Swan/Dolphin offered no discounts at that time - just too easy to fill those rooms at full price.

Tying up your friends points is an issue. However, I originally booked a 2 Bdrm at OKW, my main home resort, for Oct 23-28 at the 11 month window and then tried to book BCV, 1st choice, or BW, 2nd choice, at the 7 month window. I was waitlisted for both. BW waitlist came through first a few weeks later and then the BCV waitlist came through 2 weeks ago, about 2 months after the original waitlists were requested. Don't know what pixie dust I've been receiving but I've been lucky enough to get all of the waitlists I've ever been on to come through.

Good Luck!

In answer to your question, you aren't crazy, but don't hold your breath for an Epcot resort studio for that timeframe. It's probably not going to happen.

We have gottan Boardwalk everytime we "wait listed" so don't give up. It does seem though it is getting harder and harder to get into BW. We just got 6 nights for the 3rd week of June into BCV on a wait list. BCV is much smaller and harder to get into to so you do have a chance at BWV.

:earsboy:

Thanks guys! I am gonna keep checkin out the boards. I really just want the 2 nights...Wed and Thurs...then off to a resort (non DVC) for Fri and Sat. We'll see..... :cool1:

Only a little crazy... ;)

Seriously, because of the F&W Festival, I think a lot of people like to be in the Boardwalk area (either BWV or BCV) so they can pop in and out of Epcot at will.

I just got part of my waitlist for a 2BR at the BWV come through for October 24-29. We'll be at OKW October 22 & 23 (unless the rest of the waitlist comes through) then move over to the BWV.

You never know til you try, right???

Good luck!

In 2003 I called in September to see if by any chance I could get a studio for two nights at BWV the third week in Oct. I couldnt believe it when the CM said we have a standard veiw studio on those two night so keep trying maybe it will happen. Good Luck we're in a 1 bedroom at BWV Oct 2-7th really cant wait

The problem with a lot of these suggestions is that they require tying up a renters points with the possibility of not getting the days.

diane-I think maybe what the other posters are suggesting is that I go ahead and accept OKW for the dates I want, and I WILL stay there if nothing comes up at BWV, but I may as well go ahead and get on the waitlist to see if a BWV studio comes up. I would not expect a DVC owner to tie up the points just for me to get on a waitlist, and then if nothing at BWV came up, for me to say, "Forget it, I will not go at all."

OR

If I do not make any ressies whatsoever and just have my DVC owner friend keep calling regularly, just trying to get lucky!
