Am I crazy to even thinking about this?

My DH can't get off work until Friday night on 12/22, so I was thinking about the kids (DD-15 & DS-2) and me driving from Dallas, TX to Orlando by ourselves on 12/21 and arriving in Orlando on the morning of 12/22 after staying overnight in Tallahassee.

This will allow us a 2 night stay before our Disney cruise on the 24th. DH can get a flight arriving just after midnight on 12/23.

I've already got the rooms booked at BWV, I just want you guys to tell me if I'm nuts or not.

You are nuts. You will be to tired to do anything those two crowded days at WDW and again to tired to enjoy the cruise. Just fly together grab your transportation to the cruise and forget about the Disney World 2 days. It will probably be 4 rides days in the parks at that time and side by side walking at DTD.

If you're comfortable driving and the kids are good riders, why not?

We've driven 24 hours straight to Orlando and been ready to go once we got out of the car. You'll be too excited to be in WDW to be tired. I don't think I would plan on going park commando that time of year, but a nice relaxing pre-vacation sounds nice.

Well, I told my idea to the hubby and he's going to arrange to be off on Friday 12/22, so we're all driving down together after he gets off. So...I'm going to get my 2 WDW days and I don't even have to do all of the driving.

We're just going to hit a few rides (DH and DD have been dieing to ride EE), but mostly just enjoy being there.

I live near Atlanta, only 8 hours from Disney and we are flying! Last trip I did the drive thing, no way, no how!
