Am I crazy?? Summer sports plans

$170 to $210 a week for camps here. My boys are not going to any.

School is out the 8th. Allergy shots right after school.

The 9th, we go to my ILs.
The 10th we go to Pigeon Forge and stay the night for Eldest's birthday trip.
Back on the 11th.
Boys stay at ILs for VBS all week.
DH picks up boys on Father's Day. [he will probably go down on Saturday]
Allergy shots on Monday 21st.
Pick which boy gets to back on Wednesday the 22nd.
Switch off every week [due to allergy shots] until we go to Disney August 1st.
Get back from Disney 8/16.
School starts 8/17.

oh yeah I forget camp wood 6 cords for the house and 25 for the sugarhouse.

My boys would be perfect for Wood stacking camp!!! They are pros here!

Of course after DS15 gets his permit, it will cost me some time in a mental health facility because I will be going

I'll help fund the mental health camp because you'll need to return the favor in a few years!!!

The football conditioning program is new and quite intense. It's like the East Germans or Russians training their Olympians. Lots of core and multi-muscle training. DS loved it last year, but it was at 9am for freshman. This year he is with the big guys JV and varsity so they start earlier because many of them have jobs. That and the football coach's kids are up at 5am every morning so he's up too. Coach lives 3 houses down from us so I am hoping he can give DS a ride in the mornings.

Now the diving camp is run by the diving coach, but it is by invite only. He can only have so many kids diving at a time so I think there were only 8-10 kids on the list. I think it was all the HS and MS divers that were invited. With DS13 going into HS he needs to be on the board more so this is worth the money so he improves.

BAMB - when DD started driving, it was no problem. She was careful and she is confident. DS15, well....... let's just say he is not like his sister I think all the hairs that are not gray will be by the end of the summer if he's driving. Maybe I can con DD into driving with him so I won't have to??? Maybe I can call it sibling bonding time? Better to send DD to mental health camp than me

Ours is similiar...guess we must get a discount or the fundraising the kids do throughout the year is funding it... it actually started about 3 months ago in the mornings before school 2 days a week.. We may also get a break because he is an alumnus of the school! So all the kids know him or parents know him...

I hear ya... some out of pocket up front costs are so worth it in the end!!! Especially now that DS13 will hopefully be on an elite soccer team this spring..and that cost is pretty hefty.(along w/ the out of state travel)...

Yep, and that's only 4 weeks. I still have 6 weeks to figure out. It'll all work out, but I'll be crazy before the summer is over

Farm camp is open for anyone needing it. Camp nanny and papa could probably be worked in for any days tom isn't around since I'm home by 1. I can sleep 4-6 boys in the camper and that leaves the 4-5 beds in the house open for girls. when should I expect the first arrivals?

Everyone always wonders why my kids are home during the summer, ummmm think back 100 years ago when kids really didn't go to school that would be why.

I think haying will be starting with in the next 10 days or so...... OH MY. Weeds have already started in the garden and I'm not even finished planting it yet. so ladies send in the reenfrcements please.

neighbors did their first hay yesterday. If they don't do my back yard by next week, I'm mowing it.

Most people can't understand why we do what we do. I'm hoping that it is helping me to raise healthier kids. they definatly they have a work ethic.

Jacka would love to come to farm camp...but I must warn you...if he is in Vermont he will demand a trip to the Ben and Jerry's plant. Lactose Intolerance or not, he says it is worth it!
