Am I crazy? I know I am not alone.

We have been going to WDW in Oct for at least the last 6 years. We always do MNSSHP, etc. This year, I let DH talk me into going for Christmas. We booked Dec 6-13th. Well my sister in law just booked October and I am itching to go also (she is also going in Dec with us) DH says no way is he going in Oct then again 6 weeks later in Dec. I checked airfare and we can get $27 each way through Spirit Air. I can also get a one bedroom at SSR, which I love. I am trying to tell him that in Oct we can do MNSSHP, and go to Discovery Cove and Seaworld and then in December we will do Disney parks and maybe do a 3 night cruise to change it up. He said it is too much of the same thing too close together. Help me and I crazy or would you guys want to do the same thing. I know I am not alone on this one. Help me convince my DH to go.

Also, we usually go to WDW 3 times a year and I havent been since last Oct so I am going through some serious withdraw.

You are not crazy. A non-park trip gives WDW an entirely different feel. I love the non-park trips. You can discover so much more about "The World" when the parks are not the main focus. Good luck!

If everyone can get the time off and you have great airfare then GOOOO:thumbsup2

I would be with you, aching to go! I hope it works out with your DH. You do have good ideas for this "less of a WDW" trip! I've not been to Discovery Cove, but a friend recently went and she loved it.

If you can include Discovery Cove in the trip then I agree that it would very much be worth making the trip. That place is awesome and of course a swim with the dolphins is magical in its own right.

What a great airfare price! I'd have to say that I'd be very tempted to squeeze in a trip if we could ever get airfare like that. We would normally pay about 10 times that much for airfare!

Good luck with your decision! :)

I would take a different approach, I have family in New York and they've not had much of a summer this year, so why not take the extra trip to make up for it. There's nothing that says that you must do a park on this vacation if that's his objection. We enjoy the resort and it's ammenities as much if not more than the parks at times. Sell him on enjoying the sun and Orlando! And as far as the cruise, even though it is through Disney it's completely different. Just like Vero and Hilton head, they are through Disney but it's a completely different vacation experience.

If I could find airfare that cheap, I'd be on the next plane.

If it's been since Oct and you normally go 3 times a year, I say go for it. The cheap airfare is a sign that you should do it. Good luck, and by the way, I'm jealous!

Me too! I'm going to be in Cape May soon, well, if that's the fare out of Atlantic City, maybe my family will THINK I'm in Cape May...heh heh, I may be able to find some points for a quick solo trip!:goodvibes

If going solo an option?:confused3

Quite seriously, hubby already knows I plan on an occassional vacation to Disney w/out him. I have zero interest in some of the rougher vacations he wants so why should both of us be unhappy? (he's okay with Disney 2 out of 3 years then he gets antsy even tho we do take other vacations)

Give your hubby a kiss and a hug and tell him you love him and he's got some solo time to go hang out with friends he hasn't seen in a while:thumbsup2

That is not crazy at all, IMO! :goodvibes They would be two totally different trips, and each so much fun in their own ways. You haven't been since last October so why not go twice this fall?! I see nothing wrong with that at all! I hope you can convince him, seems like he'd enjoy it.

Oh, and we have done multiple trips in a year close together a few times now, with another one coming up (we went last month for a week, and we're going again next month for a week!!)

Good luck!:wizard:

If you're crazy, so am I.

We'll be at WDW Oct 22-27 for F&W and then Dec 2-13, also. Dec 5-12 is a cruise but the other nights before and after the cruise we'll be at WDW.

We go March, October and December each year.

I once went 2 out of 3 weeks! I planned a Mother's Day trip with my Mom at OKW and then my friends wanted to go on a trip 2 weeks before and stay at BWV. So I went on the BWV trip with my friends, came home Sunday and returned the following Sunday with my Mom! They were different trips to me, my friends like to be busy and the trip with my Mom was more laid back.

Getting an airfare rate that good is like the "Hot Now" sign at Krispy Kreme being lit up. Its a sign from above and has to be obeyed, go for it! :)

LOL! That cracked me up!:rotfl:

And made me crave a Krispy Kreme...

We're a bunch of WDW enablers here, so no we don't think you're crazy.
We are going in Jan and likely April. I'm so trying to convince myself that we don't need to go this fall too. Oh, and we just came back from an 8 night trip in April.
Those damned APs.

Um... I'd go every week, move there, whatever. Not crazy at all!!! That's why I love Dis. You understand me here.

Are you crazy? Yes, you are, but it's a good crazy!!

This may be your solution. My job situation doesn't currently allow for me to take frequent visits, so I have no problem with my wife taking trips without me. We celebrated our anniversary in Nov 08, then she took a trip with her sister and friends in March 09 and we're going back in Nov 09. As long as we can afford them, my wife can take as many trips as she needs to make her happy, I see no reason my job situation should hold her back.

Thanks guys I knew you would make me feel better. I am still working on him. He needs to decide soon so I don't miss out on the airfare and the one bedroom available at SSR. I really want to go b/c I know we probably will not be able to do Discovery Cove in Dec b/c it will probably be too cold. Plus I really love Oct in Disney. I really need to go to MNSSHP you know it is a tradition.

Well I will keep you updated but at least I know he is the crazy one and it's not me.

BTW, my DH keeps saying people only go to Disney once every few years so I am crazy that I want to go twice in 6 weeks. I keep telling him there are alot of people that go just as much as we do and more. He doesn't believe me so I have to show him this thread just to prove it.

Only someone that has experienced the heaven of the "Hot Now" sign would understand that comparison. I have and you are right :worship:
