Hey everyone,

Ok I may just be going crazy but i'm not happy at the moment. I am planning my 2012 vow renewal. My husband and I had this bigg 200 people weddign planned in 2012. Now in the middle of our wedding plans I found out I was pregnant (which was amazing because my husband was told he wouldn't have kids). So we decided to cancel all of ourwedding plans and got married in city hall. We always said we would have a real wedding when we were married 10 years. now that date is approaching and we have decided to renew our vows on DCL. I feel like the vow renewal is just not treated at disney like a wedding. For example the wedding package includes a stateboard account credit, ( which doesn't really motter too much to me) but in general it seems sooo much more goes into and more attention is paid to a wedding. I pretty much want the same as a wedding with the exception of the florida marraige cert. and the legal ceremony in florida.

Am I crazy or is it really so much more played down for a vow renewal?

DCL vow renewals are treated the same as weddings except for that one difference in the package elements. In fact, they no longer even price them differently. And there is certainly no difference in the effort or attention given to vow renewal couples on DCL.

The big difference is between Disney World weddings/vow renewals and DCL weddings/vow renewals. If you want all the pomp and circumstance and planning help of a traditional wedding, a DCL vow renewal may not be for you. It is set up to be a casual, informal celebration and you do not get a lot of hand-holding from Disney as you plan.

Sometimes brides who are expecting a traditional wedding (or VR) on a ship are disappointed at the small scale of DCL weddings. On the other hand, people who love DCL weddings/vow renewals are usually those who just want a casual, intimate celebration or who find ways to approximate a traditional wedding by adding their own touches without much help from Disney.
